Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Banded 4/08 down 50 pounds

Hi, I am a nurse. I was banded in April of 08. I am not loosing the weight like I want. I lost most of my weight the first month and then little by little. I am definately not loosing the amount I should be. I have 5.0 in a 10 cc band. I had an unfill 2 weeks ago. Now I can eat too much. I was definately too tight before that as I couldn't keep down my pills and could eat a couple bites and then I was stuck. I feel better but now not tight enough. I am frustrated and hungry most of the time. I just ordered some DVD's to get the exercise going again. I would like a buddy to help me along. If someone is out there with some advice or has the time to help that would be great. Thanks mama59:wub:

Hi,

I am a nurse also and was banded 9/07. Been stuck at this weight for a few months. I recently got back on track. I have been seeing an Eating Disorder Dietician, doing food journals and really keeping track of things. It is really helping. I can't believe I never found this site before. It is hard as a nurse when working everyone brings treats and the odd hours we keep sometimes we get sleep deprived and don't always make the best choices. I also got into therapy as I really believe anyone who gets as overweight as I was has an eating disorder. I don't want to go back to what I was. I weighed 290 when all this started. I am at 207 now. I wish it were faster but that is not how it is designed. I have to pack my lunches and plan my meals and believe me I hate planning meals. If I don't plan my meals I find myself just grabbing something quick. Hang in there write me whenever you want.

Hi there, I am also a nurse. I was banded on 5/08. To date i have lost 95 pounds. I would like to lose 25 more. It seems as though I am stuck at my current weight. I exercise one hour per day six days a week. No matter what I try, I can't seem to lose another pound. I tried eating protein bars instead of two meals per day, eating one regular meal. Still nothing. I don't know what else to to. I have been reading about a 5 day pouch test. Thought about it. I need a buddy whose been there.

I would also like to try the 5 day pouch test. I am discouraged as I don't feel like I can go much tighter with the band so it looks like dieting is the way to go. I am glad I did this but want to lose 40 more pounds. 95 pounds is great. I wish I could say that. Thanks to both of you for replying back.
