3 Month Updates

Recommended Posts

Today is 3 months for me. I really have been trying to weigh myself only once a month. The last month has really been a learning experience for me. lost only 3.6 lbs BUT if I do the math it averages out to 1-2 lbs a week since my surg date. I can feel the difference in my clothes. went down 2 sizes (I have the collection of different sizes so I didn't even have to buy new stuff!!) Even though I haven't lost a great deal of weight when I compare myself with some of you I didn't gain it all back which was my past habits before the band! I know the band is keeping me from overeating (Tried it a few times-PB etc...the band let me know!!!!)

Coming to terms with what I can't eat. Have somewhat accepted that my journey to goal is slow the band is not a quick fix. I am done with crazy diets!!!:D

Been working on drinking enough fluids.

Kept on track with Vits (Centrum chewable, B-12, Calcium, added Biotin want to keep my hair!) getting Fiber Benefiber in morning tea, 60+ grams of Protein a day-been drinking Protein Drinks otherwise I can't seem to get enough.

This board has REALLY helped me. Thank you...:)

Tomorrow's my 3 month bandaversary...yay! I've lost 55.4# since my pre-op diet a week before surgery. I started at 313.4 and now I'm 258. I can't wait until I et down below 250, then I'm be closer to onderland than to the 300's. I'm down from a size 28 to a 22.

I've had 2 fills so far, but 3 adjustments. I was having trouble with mushies so before going to solids I had an unfill. They removed 3.2ccs which was everything they could get out. They said that left me with 0.5ccs. 2 1/2 weeks later everything was going well so I went back in for my first fill--2.5ccs. I felt good after this, still not to my sweet spot but I definitely had restriction. Then 1 1/2 weeks ago I went back for fill #2 and they put another 1 cc in. I now have 4 ccs total in my 10 cc band. I feel like I'm a hairs bredth away fromt he sweet spot. Great restriction, the only problem is that the fullness only last 3 1/2-4 hours instead of 5.

Exercise is going well, although that's never been a huge issue for me. I work out 2 times a week with my trainer for an hour. I alos do 30 minutes cardio on those days. I also try to do an additional day of cardio for 1 hour. I did intervals on the treadmill today walking for 5 minutes at a 3.5 then running for 5 minutes at a 5.0 for a full hour.

A couple of other things I've noticed...I think I'm starting to lose some of my hair, although I have a lot of very fine hair so a few less strands should not be that noticable. I've also noticed my teeth are whiter, no doubt thanks to my Diet Coke abstinece.

I have updated photos on my blog if anyone is interested.

I had my 3 mo. Bandiversary last week. I'm down 48.5 pounds total, 29.5 since surgery. I've moved from a size 24 pant to an 18. I reached Onederland today (199.5) and a few weeks ago moved to the 'Overweight' BMI category. I've had 3 fills (last one today) and am up to 5.6cc's/10cc band. I had a little restriction with the last one, but I think this one will make a difference.

Overall, I'm really happy with things, expecially as a low BMI'er. I'm doing well on making the diet part a lifestyle...I'm not 'dieting' (never again) and I never drink my meals (except after a fill). No food is off limits and I eat mainly what my family eats, but I'll eat more of the Protein and skip the starches. I'm having no trouble getting in the right amount of daily Protein and keeping the calories in line is going well. On the other hand I need a lot of work in making the lifestyle change with exercise...it's been very inconsistent and non-existent at times.

Here's to month 4! Sounds like everyone is doing great!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
