Did you diet before pre-op diet and still lose weight?

I have been dieting and exercising and losing weight for 6 months. I'm worried that I'll do the pre-op diet and not have a sigificant loss like others b/c I'm already doing the low cal/low fat thing. I won't lose a ton of water weight either b/c I'm already on a diuretic for my BP. Anyone else in my position? Did you still lose a lot on the pre-op?

did not have to do a pre-op. but had to do the six months dietian classes. lost 40lbs.before surgery.i was 324 when started. 285 at surgery.now down to 248.

I am taking a diuretic too. I'm OLD too (LOL) I was 53 when i got banded. I expected SLOW WL on the preop diet my doc gave me.

What happened? I "cheated" and did my own diet and lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks (great, huh?) Didn't get the band Because I cheated (liver too big still) so for 17 days I did exactly EXACTLY what my doc told me to do. In 17 days I lost 17 more pounds. I was astounded.

Don't worry; if your doc feels you need to lose more on the preop diet, he can help you make it happen.
