My march for mandatory avatars

Blah blah blah, I know this isn't going to fly, but I want to see avatars on every single member, STAT.

I realize they aren't mandatory, but they sure are fun. If anyone wants help shrinking a picture, lots of people here will help. I even learned how to shrink one, so post up!

So Penni,

How do I get the little pic into my avatar? I don't seem to be able to save it to my system by clicking on it.

No doubt there's something simple here I'm missing. Nothing like TECHNOLOGY to make one feel stupid.

:)

Right click on the pic and then save it to your computer. But remember where you saved it. I usually put it on my desktop or in My Documents so I can find it later.

Then follow these instructions:

TO post the Avatar follow these instructions:

Click on the USER CP located at the top left of page.

Then click on the Edit Avatar link located on the LEFT side of page Under the SETTINGS & OPTIONS box.

Scroll down the page past the cartoon avatars and you will see CUSTOM AVATARS.

In the box that says CUSTOM AVATARS FROM YOUR COMPUTER click on the browse box and find the pic you want to use for your new Avatar.

Then click Save changes.

Hurray for me!!! I am now a Bandster... I was up and walking around about 2 hours after surgery. Boy will I tell you... being in the hospital with lots of energy and nothing to do was terrible... If you plan to go, take something to do... I brought books but I wasn't in the mood... I walked everywhere on the floor... I think the nurses were about ready to shoot me.... finally at about midnight they brought me in a sleeping pill and wouldn't leave til they watched me take it... and then I was up again the next morning bright and early.

All the nurses were great and Dr Ortiz and his staff are phenomenal.

I won't say that I didn't have any pain after surgery... but it is only when I stretch my muscles on the left side a bit too much... lifting... twisting... but as of 2 days later that only twinges... not really a pain... I do have a lump in my throat... swelling making me feel like I am REALLY full. But that too has gone down alot... and it is not always there.

I am on my way to the new me and there ain't no stopping me!!!!

Thanks DeLarla...finally have an avatar...now I have to take current pics..I can't remember the last time i didn't hide from the camera..Oh! Last oct..I was on vacation and didn't care ...I had to prove I was there... Cindy

OMGosh, a picture of Jack. A REAL visual of the man behind the posts! Amazing! I love it! You are mighty handsome and not near as gray-headed as I had hoped :D Wow. I'm shocked and very very happy. :)

Here I am....a friend came over and taught me how to "shrink" a picture in paint on my puter. I can now do it all by myself. ~Mandy

Lisa, I'm really glad you started this thread. It seems that almost every post I read has a picture now. It's really nice to see what everyone looks like!
