Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!

Recommended Posts

Down another 600 grams (1.3 pounds) this week, but boy have I had to work for it!

I have been working out, sticking to Protein drinks twice a day and eating a tiny dinner in order to avoid/minimise Bandster Hell.

This time next week I'll have had a fill and hope to have reached my first mini goal- double digits on the scales (in kilograms, of course!)

Thank goodness the scale finally moved! It finally moved! I kept saying I knew I was doing the right things and I would be patient but I was thinking about considering being on the verge of being impatient. :)

Anyway, down 5 pounds this week!! 230 as of this morning (I know it's not Friday, but this is my Friday weigh in.)

Congratulations, everyone!!! :)

Bmaz, if you are using TickerFactory, you need to plug in your PIN then click on Update Weight (the blue button right under the PIN box). That should help you change your weight. HTH! And don't worry, you're just in Bandster Hell. I also could eat any amount of anything. Now I'm losing again. :)

Work in Progess, the WLS can really mess with TOM. It did for me and many others. It has to do with the release of hormones stored in our fat, I'm told. :)

I noticed your surgery date along with your 1st fill. I'm having to wait almost 2 months for my 1st fill too! I wonder why it is done so differently between doctors. Any ideas? I'm a little nervous that I won't be able to establish a good "fill rapport" with my surgeon. I'm trying to talk my primary, who is 50 minutes closer, into learning how to do the fills. Good luck in the wait! I'm there with you. Beth

Hey Spidey- I can create my ticker, I just can't get it to come up on my posts. Computers really frustrate me! When my kids were home, I could get all the help I needed. Anyone over the age of 7 would do....

Anyway, thanks for taking the time and care to jump in and reply to people's posts. This is a great forum! Beth

Hi Beth, I'm hoping I didn't give my doc the impression that I didn't need a fill when I met with him. I was losing at a good pace and it still isn't bad. We'll be fine though.

Also, if you want a mayo Banditos thing, just click on mine or any other, it will take you to the site, copy and paste onto your signature page which is found at your log in thing. GB

Wow! down 3 more lbs this week. I'm suprised. 3 before surgery, 17 since 5/27. I know this will slow down but I'm happy now. No fills as of yet but based on the Realize band criteria I think I will need to schedule one in a few weeks.

This week was even better than the last two with 2.5# but I hope my Dr is agressive with the fills since I just found out the insurance will only cover them for six months following surgery. Considering the fact that its $100+ for the office visit and $300 for the fill, I don't know that I can do that out of pocket right now!

Starting weight 214

Surgery weight 199

Friday 6/19 182

Total so far -17

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
