What do you reward yourself with?

Recommended Posts

My husband and i were talking yesturday and he said that i should do a reward program for my self. For every so many lbs that i lose i reward my self with something. Like every 20lbs or what ever i set up for my self. And he said that it should be something good not something i would buy anyway even if i didn't loose the weight, something i normally wouldn't do. Like that pricey purse i didn't want to spend the money on or go to the spa for the day. Things like that. Do you think this is a good idea? I would love to hear what you would reward yourself with and how often.

Well, how about a facial or massage? The absolute cutest outfit that fits when you have an event come up. A pretty piece of jewelry at 50 pounds gone to remind you always of how good you felt the day the scale reflected that. Fresh flowers.

I thinks it's a great idea. I personally have found that I have more cash around the house now that I'm not buying junk to eat. I think I may adopt your husband's idea. But if it's gonna be an expensive item the goal has to be a biggy.

I spoil myself fairly regularly. But I have "big" bonuses like when I get below 300 we are going to Vegas for a few days. When I get to 250 we are going to see my Beloved Mickey Mouse. So Travel is what I'm after...but only when I'm smaller and can enjoy it

This is an awesome idea! My DH came up with a similar system. For every 25lbs I lose I will be rewarded with a gold charm for my charm braclet.:scared2:

I have bought a 6ctw. green amethyst ring ... that is gorgeous. I have had "100lbs!" engraved inside the band. I have not worn it yet and I asked my husband to hide it until I come out of the bathroom one morning doing the 100 dance. I am getting close to wearing that ring. As of this morning I am down 99lbs!

It is funny. I use to go out to eat as an award... that doesn't work any more. So buying a new size now and then if really fun!

I love the idea of buying new clothes. I have been stopping myself from doing that as I keep thinking what a waste it will be if it doesn't fit in two months. BUT why not enjoy the journey! Isn't it fantastic and fun to try stuff on and realize it fits! For the biggies I like the idea of jewelry. I might buy myself something nice when I hit 50 pounds and then something really nice when I get to goal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
