Since I had my 4th fill I have had a big problem with my saliva being very thick. It's not all the time, just after I eat. Also, when I throw up, it looks like the throw up itself is inside of a bubble. Sorry bout that but I wanted to check to see if anyone else has had or is having this happen with them? If so, what is causing this?

You are now officially entered into the Lapband club of "Sliming or PB'ing(productive burp)". This is what happens when you eat too fast, take big bites, and dont chew well. When you do any of these things, you will produce a lot of saliva and when u throw up, it might come up with all that saliva just as you swallowed it. That happens to me because I eat way too fast. Its all trial and erro. I would say almost everyone here has experienced that at one time or another. Remember, small bites, chew well, eat slow. Good luck!!

The exact same thing happens to me, but I didn't know the terms.

slimcityhereicome:

First you have to visit slime city.

I can even slime from drinking liquids too fast or too much at a time.

I hate sliming, but I love my band!

Best wishes.

Sue

Slime is so nasty but is part of our new world. Eating slower is part of what I deal with. I get in such a hurry.

You know, they used to sell stuff called "Slime". Maybe we should be packaging and selling the stuff.

Yes, this is icky isn't it? Happens to me a lot when I move back to real foods after a fill. It's that darned learning curve. For this not to happen, I need to eat very slowly and chew very well. It's SO EASY for me to forget to do that!

AND - keep a barf bag in the car for emergencies. Learned the hard way!

I get this too - sometimes from not being focused on eating (and as a result eat too fast), sometimes from drinking Water too soon after eating.

I've learned over the years to control the slime buildup fairly consistently. I can sense the internal pressure when it's building up, so I might walk around a bit - that helps to jar loose whatever's gummed up the works. Also, taking slow, deep, controlled breaths helps it to clear. And, oh man, it's SUCH a sensation of relief when it clears. Like a clogged drain suddenly letting the water flow. lol

I had RNY and I also have this issue. But only when I throw up. If I notice something isn't settling in my tummy very well and I go to throw up I notice it is very thick.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
