My band is schizophrenic. One day I can't eat anything without being stuck and pbing and vomiting, and the next I am fine. Why is this? Did something happen to the band? Did I do something to it from throwing up? I am worried because yesterday I had an omlette and home fries with no problem and then a lean cuisine flat bread sandwich for dinner. I didn't eat the whole omlette, but still, it went down fine. The flat bread sandwich was a little stuck feeling. But the day before I couldn't eat anything without feeling stuck and I vomited once. Anyone else have experiences like this? Did I puncture the band or something vomiting and now there's no restriction? I'm worried.

My restriction sometimes changes from day-to-day. Stress, timing, hormonal changes, allergies/flu are all factors that can change your restriction level.

Make sure that you are calm and have time to sit down and focus on your meal. Avoid the dry, doughy foods. Make sure you are eating slowly, taking bites about the size of the nail on your index finger and chewing well. If all of that checks out, look at the other possible factors mentioned above. If all else fails see your doctor.

You described it perfectly...a schizophrenic band because what and how much I can eat varies from day to day!

I know the time of day has alot to do with it for me. I am super tight in the Am, so anything other then a beverage drank very slowly will give me issues. Ive also found that being in a prone position for anything over a half an hour will tighten me right back up. For example laying down in the afternoon or something. So choosing the appropriate food to coincide with the level of tightness at times of hunger is key to avoiding pb or stuck situations.

Hi,the band itself cannot stretch or contract at will. But your flesh that it is banded around can be more swollen at times. My restriction is tightest in the mornings.

I thought I was the only one experiencing this. During the day, I can eat fine but when I eat in the evening,, not even late, i get stuck and the food come up.

Mine changes all the time that is why I keep a looser band..so I can eat at all times....if you do vomit make sure you go to liquids for 24 hours you could be caught in a vicious cycle

I don't know about you, but my band does not like me very much this week. I don't know how I offended it or what I need to do to get back on it's good graces, but I had a fill last Wednesday, I did fine Thursday and Friday and since Saturday, I have been able to keep down very, very little food or liquids. I feel like I got something stuck, but no matter how much I pb or slime, I don't think I've been able to dislodge it yet. I have tried the papaya enzymes, tums, going back to liquids.......... It is not happy with me this week.

I was banded 4/7. I'm feeling great. No "sticky" feeling, no nausea, no vomitting, no extreme full feeling. I guess I'm very lucky. I have an appointment with my surgeon 5/22 & my family doctor 4/29 and I'm anxoius to see if I've lost anything yet. I ate a toasted tuna sandwich for lunch today and expected to feel stuffed. I almost felt like i could have eaten more and that really scares me. I didn't eat anything else but I wonder if anyone else had this feeling? Thanks!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
