Unnaturally cold all the time

Recommended Posts

I am always cold and my hubby is just the opposite. He has always sweated too easy. I think I was just about normal as far as temp before surgery. We are always turning the air off or on when the other isn't looking.

My hands, feet, legs and arms stay freezing cold. But I hate wearing slippers and socks around the house. I typicaly stay wrapped up in a blanket if watching TV. I am at work right now and have on a jacket because I am freezing. Maybe it's because we have lost insulation (as in fat)??

My body is finally beginning to regulate it self. It only took 4 months after my surgery for that to happen!

:rolleyes:I love being cold. I was always the first one to sweat and be hot before anyone else. I used to dread going into stores because I would sweat so much that my hair would be drenched in a matter of minutes. Now I keep my house set at 76 to 78, I freeze at work and I hardly ever sweat (I live in Arizona) and I love it.

I'm the same way and I was never like that before the surgery. I've only lost 44 pounds and I'm already like that. I don't understand it. How could just 44 pounds make that much of a difference in temp regulation?

Holistic doctor said take extra Omega 3 oil (fish oil) and that should help after a while. Good for heart and hair also. Can also get it in liquid form at health food store.

I'm so happy to have stumbled onto this thread! I've always been very hot natured. I thought I was having some kind of post op infection even though I have no temperature.

Now I can just enjoy the energy savings from turning down my AC!:(

Obviously there will be a difference in our tolerance to cold once we lose weight, but I'd still advise you to get your thyroid checked and make sure you're not anemic...

Other than that, just enjoy the lack of sweat this summer:thumbup:

On the positive side, now I'm comfortable in hot weather. Last week I was cutting the grass when it was 92 degrees, and I was sweating, but comfortable. It's nice not having all of that extra insulation.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
