Banded April 1st Details Day 7 I Feel My Stomach

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys --- wait until you hear this --- it's very cool to be so in touch with my stomach. i can actually feel my stomach. i keep picturing that 1 ounce pouch that sits above the band. it's an effective image.

and i think i'm rewiring my brain. i mean, shouldn't i be starving? It's been 21 days since i've had a bite of food. how long could i sustain this? i'm not sure i want to start eating again. i kinda like this. i'm running on pure Protein. my nails are growing.

symptoms: scope holes are healing perfectly. no reddened areas, typical tenderness. radiating left shoulder pains continue making it painful to take a deep breath which sucks because i should be oxygenating my lungs. and, as a swimmer, i like taking deep breaths and i'm pissed that it still hurts.

i was constipated until this morning. if by day 3 nothing is moving and you're drinking enough and you're walking enough, take Miralax (I had to take it 4x) don't wait.

there are times when i think i am hungry. i have something and i feel full. i can eat fast and not fill up. that is scary. but, i'm on all liquids after all. i ate 5 popsicles in an hour. that was bad behavior modification. in my defense, i walked nearly 3 miles that day and i really felt hungry that day. the following day was within daily limits. the behavior bothered me. it was a flag. an early flag. so i'll flag that thought. how to get this shoulder pain to go away so i can take a deep breath.....

more later....

Great work Knewme, I was banded on the 2nd April and I get what you mean - visualising the little pouch etc.

I have not been hungry either except a little yesterday. Although I have had icecream which I never have and it was sooooooo good that i had to have another bowl. Hard that you don't get the FULL feeling on liquids - just the constant "im not very hungry" feeling. Can't wait to have both!!! Icecream going down the drain as cannot have that temptation! I tried to eat the tiniest bit of cake (like as long as your thumb) and chewed bites off it as big as little fingernail, and thought i'd be sweet but BOY will I not cheat again! bloated indigestion freakout central!!! I was all concerned I'd buggered it up well and truly! liquid liquid liquid for me until they say so! Have my first post op appt this afternoon at 4.30, so will see how well I have done. I think I will only be down about 1-2kilos (2-5lb) as I have weighed on my scales. A little disappointed but HELLO!!! ITS ONLY BEEN A WEEK!!! Will let ya'll know how I get on. Off shopping this afternoon... fun times!! Knewme - how on EARTH are you walking 3miles - I am so exhausted after DRIVING 3miles!!

Well, the 3 miles was a true exception. I count 1 mile when we walked to the bridge and back and then two times i went to the bus stop and back which i know is 1 mile. today i walked to the bus stop and back twice. and if it makes you feel any better, i am starving today. although, by keeping a food log, i see that at 9pm i've only had 39 grams of Protein. 30 grams short and i be that's why i'm hungry. so now i'm going to have more protein and yes, more Water and try to stick it out. i'm starving. and bored. and starving.

Congrats Knewme on the rewiring and all the miles you've logged! Can I ask, were you a walker before?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
