April Bandsters?

Well I am getting banded on April 7th! Anyone else? I'm excited and nervous, but know that the future is going to be terrific! I've got nutrition class this Thursday, pre-surgery admission stuff on the 11th, and start the liquid diet for 2 weeks starting on the 19th. Time is going to fly!

Does anyone remember where the post was about what to get/bring before the surgery?

Andrea

Hello Everyone

I;m getting banded April 29. I can't wait. I feel like it will never get here but on the other there is so much to do before that day gets here. I have done so good with doing whatever the doctor says to do even quit smoking after 36 years of smoking. But I am having a hard time with the coffee and soda I will get a bad headache if I don't get it I try to start with 1/2 decaff and 1/2 reg I did that for two weeks didn't help. I'm hoping someone can help

Thanks

Good Luck to everyone getting banded this month

Dear Help,

Youre on the right track with the half decaf...but also really try to fill yourself up with water...it can be the best thing for the caff withdrawal! Good luck, I am doing the same! No date yet though...Cali

First time posting (surgery is TOMORROW!). I am ready to jump in (well I already have after that 2 week liquid protein/bar diet). I have found my forum....

Dear Just,

Wishing you all the bet and congrats on surviving the preop diet! I saw you are from socal so I wonder who your doc is? I am seeing Dr. Oliak on Orange tomorrow!!! Good luck and keep us posted on how you're doing!! Cali

I finally got a date scheduled and I am so happy to be joining the Bunnies! I am posted for 4/30 and am really looking forward to getting started on what I hope is a new chapter in my life. I am so glad to have found this forum and find so much info and support here. Good luck go all the April banders!

Help,

Hang on tight for the liquid prep. I was on it for 2 weeks (3 protein shakes and 2 protein bars - provided by my doctor). After the first 3 days - I really wasn't hungry and I can't believe it went by so quickly. I just kept busy busy busy and drank the 2 quarts of water.

Cali,

I am going to the N.E.W. Program in Newport Beach - Dr. Quebbeman. The surgery will be performed at Chapman Medical Center which is where I believe Dr. Oliak is located.

Could you please add me to the list. I will be banded on the 24th.

Happy to be a part of the April Bunny Bandster Group!

I totally understand about the coffee... I can taste the difference between regular and decaf!

I am still drinking my coffee and trying to wean myself off as best I can. The diet soda was not as big of a deal as I thought.I thought I would die without my diet Pepsi..I just stopped buying it and haven't missed it like I thought I would.

Coffee, on the other hand, has been a challenge. I only drink one or two cups in the mornings, but I am gonna miss it. The taste the smell, everything.... I imagine I am gonna have a headache when I can't drink it anymore.

This too was going to be a problem for me. I asked the Bariatric Coordinator and she said 1 - 2 cups would be Ok, if I increased my fluid because coffee is a diuretic. It's confusing. I think there should be one set of do's and don'ts.

Hi Everyone - I just got my surgery dates and I'm getting my band on 4/17 at Barix in Ypsilanti MI. Could use a buddy if anyone wants to pm.
