I had my smartlipo today!!!

Well today I had smartlipo done on my arms and it was so easy and completely painless. Now my arms are real swollen but the Dr said that this is the biggest they will be and it is downhill from here. I really could not believe how easy it was. I told the Dr why would anyone want the other lipo when this one is so easy. If anyone has any questions please feel free. I go back on the 20th for my abd and flanks and I can't wait!!

Great to hear your recovery is going well and that you are happy with the results so far!

Could you please explain what smart lipo is and how it differs from regular lipo..

I need to get my arms, thighs and chin done too and am starting to interview surgeons.. any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

This may seem like a silly question, but one that I've always been curious about. I'm sure for "normal folks" (for lack of a better word) that have always been thin, that post lipo their skin has some elasticity and can just snug right back up to normal.

But for those of us that were once or still are rather obese and have been for some time, after you have lipo like this, aren't you left with loose skin ? Something I've always been curious about and would like to hear ! Thanks in advance, especially if the answer to my question is really obvious.

Thanks !

I am also curious about the loose skin. Does it tighten up?

Well I went to my follow up appt today and asked them to email me my before pics and they did. I am going to have dh take some pics tomorrow and then I will post them. Now remember these are just a couple weeks post lipo so I am really swollen still. I was really concerned because it appears that my left arm is slightly bigger than my right arm but the Dr said that it is just too early to really know for sure what the arms will do. I feel like my arms are still real jiggly but he said that we really need to give them at least 3 months if not longer so just to be patient. They do look smaller so that makes me happy. Now my belly and hips look better to me but I will be really curious to see them compared to my befores. It has only been like 10 days for that area so I know there is still a lot of swelling. No pain at all and all the incisions are healing just fine.
