ACK! I'm dying from hunger and it's only day 4!!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Well there is definately a difference between my first band surgery and my revision. There is no fill in the band at all and I am STARVING. I've been on Clear liquids up until I had some Tomato Soup this evening (same consistency at Slim Fast) and that finally took away the terrible hunger pains I was having. I mean, it was actual PAIN. And it's only been four days since the surgery. I am surprised I am so hungry even though I don't have any fill. Anyone else here had a revision have the same experience?

The doctor did mention to me I didn't have to be on the clear liquid phase for as long as normal because I would be hungrier, but this is bad! Hopefully when I add yogurt to my diet tomorrow that will help some.

Any thoughts?

Mae

I haven't had a revision, but last time I was on liquids, I heated up some canned minestrone Soup, then zooped it up with a handblender. The Pasta in it was really filling, even though it was at a liquid consistency.

Hope the hunger pains leave you soon and glad the revision went well.

Hang in there Mae! You've been a great inspiration as I'm getting started on this journey. Hopefully you'll have a fill soon and feel better. ((hugs))

Hey Mae, I was wondering, did you get the same band and size when you went for your revision? I have been out of the loop on vaca so I prolly missed it. I think you said you got a brand new band. Which was your old and what is your new?

Anyhow, so glad you are recovering well. I'm sorry you are hungry :)

Egg Drop Soup...Yeah Baby!!!

My new band is the large Lap Band, my old band was a small Austrian band my previous surgeon had made specifically for him. So I guess I shouldn't be so shocked about the difference in appetite. Now that I've allowed myself something with some substance (tomato soup) I am feeling SOOOO much better. Tomorrow my diet will consist mostly of SlimFast and/or Boost and yogurt so I should be in a MUCH better place tomorrow. Yogurt never sounded so goooood.

Thanks all!!!

Mae :)

I'm craving a Wetzel's Grateful Garlic Pretzel like there is no tomorrow.......... hehehe

Hi again. I made some suggestions on your other thread before I saw this one, I'm SO glad I was wrong about the liquid part (you not having to wait so long) I bet that Tomato Soup was great! P.S. I still love Dr. Martinez.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
