February 2009 Exercise Challenge

Recommended Posts

I did the swim thing for 1 hour 15 min. I'm not sure how far I went. Did one 500, a 6 x 100 and a 400 and some other stuff. I lost track. We did a lot of drills and I learned how to do my hands properly and that helped me swivel my hips.

No treadmill today, my lower back has been letting me know that 2-3 wks straight of running is not what it wants. So, did 45 minutes on elliptical, pausing every 10 minutes to pump out 25 pushups. Btwn that and some before and after, I'm to 225 pushups already today.

Tonight will be upper body and a little more cardio.

Nothing this weekend as it is my 2nd "guys" weekend. Gotta take some time off:tt2:

Stationary bike. 45 min.

I've started adding in hill work. It's weird because the hills are so hard but overall I go more miles and my average heart rate is lower and my calories burned is lower. So, in some ways, it appears to not be as good a workout. But my METS where the same.

Hey Warriors,

Haven't posted in a while - January was NOT a good month for my workouts...

Back on track now, though - been walking every day at work now that the sidewalks are much clearer. Still haven't been in the gym, work has been a bit crazy and I don't have any energy when I leave.

Will be going to the gym this weekend to hopefully re-jump start my habit. DH does maintenance at a gym and they were tossing rowing machines, so he brought one home. Already downloaded a workout for it to my IPhone, so I'll be breaking that in this weekend.

Ya'll put this sometimey-jock-wanna-be to shame!

Yesterday: Unexpected road trip out of town, so no exercise.

Today: 4 miles, 1% incline, for 60 minutes. I was able to go 1 extra mile, by decreasing the incline. My goal now is to do 5 miles in 60 minutes by March 15.:frown:

Georgia Girl sorry to hear you were sick.

Lulu, let me know how golfing is with the Wii.

I did a brick!

We biked for about 8 miles (an up and back), then practiced our transitions (mine was about 30 seconds as I just took off my bike helmet and gloves and put on my running hat) and then ran.

My legs were like jelly though. Yikes.

Lulu, let me know how golfing is with the Wii.

i love it - it really helped my putting game.!.

yesterday 18 holes, we walked it and carried our clubs as well. that made it interesting & don't plan on doing that again - i like the cart a little too much.

georgia - hope your feeling better.

mac - like the new avtr.

today - day off.

Today: 40-minutes of yoga and I am not really sure what I think of it yet, other than I have no flexibility at this point.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
