February '09 bandsters?

It's fairly certain that I'll be having the surgery in the beginning of February, any one else out there making the biggest change in the shortest month?

Hi, I will be having my LB surgery on Feb. 3, 2009 I am so excited. Good Luck!!!!!!!

lady, I too am being banded on the 3rd. I'm so excited but nervous at the sametime. I start my pre-op diet on Monday. Not so bad just a low to no carb diet. Good luck to you. Tam

Just wanted to thank u all for a great day of responses!!!! I see my surgeon on the 19th and just wondering is it then when she will put me on that liquid diet or is that always necessary??? Well be talkin with all u soon.

wow i am way bummed. i have to go for a sleep test on tuesday night. complete with overnight stay and creepy cameras and wires... i am not looking forward to that. i finished all my pre op tests and was given some things to start doing. i.e. cutting way down on coffee and chewing longer. i have to make my meals last twenty mins. no date yet. they said the lady that books the surgery was not in so i have to call tomorrow. keep your fingers crossed for me!

derbin- the sleep studies are not to bad. I've done several. Other than looking like a test subject under a microscope, you will make it through. I highly recommend getting a mild sleeping pill from your dr. if you have trouble sleeping in strange places as they need a full set amount of time for the study. That is what they reccomended for me. Good luck! and hope your surgery date is soon.

exumtam, thanks for the encouragement, you made me feel a little bit better. i asked the doctor about getting something to make me sleep and he said the room is very comforatable and i should not have much trouble sleeping in it. (boo). i am going to call today and hound the front desk to get me a surgery date. they originally said beg to mid feb.... i am so ready! when is your surgery date?

Kelly

Hopefully I'll have my lapband done in Feb also. My paperwork is being submitted to BCBSTx fep today. Does anyone know how long the approval/denial takes once submitted?

Possibly 2 to 3 weeks; been in the insurance biz 29 yrs, and my understanding BX stopped approving LB, even on appeal. Possibly your policy has changed since don't write with Bx anymore. Have you called the benefits dept?

Thanks Tam

Good luck to you also, I pray that all goes well

and that you do well with the pre-op diet. I must

admit that I am a little worried and have been trying

to introuduce the liquids slowly so that when I must only

have them it won't be such a shock to my system:scared2:

Please keep me informed of your progress.

Ladyd

Hey Tam, im a lil worried @ that liquid only diet also but im sure we will be fine. I think im a lil more worried @ not being able to eat n drink @ the same time.....:(!!!! Well i know these r changes I have to make so im just gonna have to "suck it up"!!!! ;)

Help me out, February friends! I've started a thread titled, What should we call ourselves? I've had a couple of responses, and I'd love to have more! We need a name, don't we?

Ok, maybe not, but humor me! :-)

Debbi, I agree we need a group name for the Feb. 09 bandsters . . . I'll go check out your thread. Sarah

Kelly my surgery is Feb 3.

As far as the sleep study you might consider taking some benadryl as that is what the sleep study recomended the first time... it did work, but needed something stronger since. Now that I'm on the machine all I have to do is say sleep put it on and I'm out like a light. I don't mind the machine but really can't wait to get rid of it as it leaves facial marks in the am. Hope you get your date soon. Tam

How about Fab Febs for our name.. just a thought.

Fabulous February friends? Thank you, Tam.

And thank you, Sarah, for going to check out my thread, which is in the monthly forum, February, 2009 forum.

Ivernous, my surgery date is also the 10th. I'm excited, and maybe just a little anxious.
