biggest loser - '09

Everyone going home for a month and only losing at the most 10 pounds just goes to show how hard it is losing weight can be (ok, I KNOW we already know this) but it also shows just how artificial the ranch environment is. Unless I can work out 6-8 hours a day with a trainer and not have to work I won't be able to lose 10 pounds a week. I'd be happy with 10 pounds a month!!

Jerry may have lost more weight, but Nicole looks far, far better and healthier, IMO.

I have to agree. Poor Jerry almost looks emaciated.

I agree! Jerry looks so OLD! My dad is 78 and doesn't look as old as Jerry! Nicole almost has Jillian's arms! She rocks!

Nicole AND her fiance look fan-freakin-tastic!!

I'm so excited to see the final three, especially Tara. Well, and also Helen. She looked SO good in her "goal" clothes a couple weeks ago.

Hubby just said Daniel may give Jerry a real run for his money.

I know Helen won the thing, but does she look bad or what. Look at her neck and arms. Tara may not have won but she looked awesom!

Tara certainly looked healthier. Helen looked great in the dress, but yeah, you really saw how thin she was in her weigh-in outfit. She's too thin for her age. And Jerry -- omg, he looked nearly 20 years older than he is! Also too thin.

Beth, I agree with you 100%. To me it looked like they starved themselves just to make sure they won the thing.

Jerry looked like he is sick with something really bad and Helen reminded me of a friend of mine who was anorexic and would work out for hours at a time.

I think Tara is going to go on to bigger and better things. She looked so good.

Wow both Mike and Ron lost 200 or so a piece! Awesome!

I wonder if they will have a lapbander on there next season:wink:

I really wanted Tara to win *pout*.

Helen did a great job, but I have to agree....she looked too thin for her age.

Tara looked so beautiful and healthy!

Mike looked good too. I hope he can help his brother lose weight now...

I'm really bummed that Helen won. I think she looked like she'd been fasting for a week or two. Tara looked much better IMO, much healthier. And Mike - wow, just wow. He's going to get so much attention from the girls when he gets to college.

And David -- omg, wasn't that equal to the weight he lost on the ranch and no more?

I hate to say this, but even though Daniel did SO good, his face was cuter when he was heavier. I don't mean that in an ugly way, I promise...

Overall they did very well. It couldn't have felt good for David to be there amongst all the losers.

Thoughts watching via Tivo:

Jerry looks -sick-, like a cancer patient

No real surprise that Joelle and (I already forgot her name) didn't do well. Did anyone really expect otherwise?

Team Blane and Dane are trying hard to get that fake half marathon off the table. Overcompensate much?

Dan the man is doing well. Still big, but looking good

I hate everything about Kristin's look

Initial reaction to Helen was "holy crap!" Then 140 lbs. Good work!

Damn! Tara fades at the end

Ditto to everything you said.

Yes. He looked like he was at least 75.

No real surprise that Joelle and (I already forgot her name) didn't do well.

Actually, I thought they did well considering they did this in 16 weeks (most of it at home). Joelle lost 82lbs and Carla lost in excess of 100 lbs. Even though I'm not a fan of Joelle, I thought she looked very lovely tonight.

Damn! Tara fades at the end

I was so disappointed she didn't win. She so deserved to win.

Yeah, they looked bad, but they each just banked six figures. Isn't that what the game is REALLY about?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
