I am not voting because I can't decide who I want to stay. My vindictive side says keep Ron because he wants his son there, but I want to kick his butt off.

Either way - I get a fill tomorrow! This should put me back where I was before my gallbladder surgery and on the road to happy band life again!

I didn't know Jillian had a book. That is worth looking for.

Watched the show with interest last night...I'm amazed that they all finished a marathon! I don't know if I'd be ready to do that...that was awesome!

Jillian is hot - no matter what her orientation. I'd love to have her arms.:wub: Even my DH who usually says women her size "need a sandwich" doesn't have ANYTHING bad to say about Jillian...

Love Tara - I hope she wins it all.

Helen whines too much for me - grow a set, already!

Mike finishing the marathon with a semi-injured hip was cool to watch - very inspirational.:D

Ron finishing the marathon was amazing - pure grit. He just refused to give up and it was very cool to see all the past participants come and walk with him. Yep, I still dislike him overall, but last night was a redeeming moment for him.

Feeling sorry for Max - he's got three people in his house that have lost the weight and he's still big. To his credit, he really seems to be working on it - I hope he makes it.

Can't wait for the live finale!

While I'm very proud of Ron for FINALLY finishing something in his life, it also aggravates me that much more about his whiny ass and all those times he quit almost immediately after starting.

In the half-marathon, he went (somebody said) about 3 miles. Well, he PROVED last night that he COULD do it, twice over. Same with every other challenge he's quit. Last night proved that he COULD do it, he just consistently chose not to. Like he chose not to let the gastric bypass work for him.

Plain, I didn't know that Ellen was from Atlanta, Tx. I live in Omaha, just a stone throw away from you.

Oh, I live closer to you than that. I reside in the metropolis of Douglassville.

She's a little too "muscle-y" for me (I know, y'all really care, right....lol). I find it fascinating.....the difference between what men find physically attractive and what women THINK men would find physically attractive.

Yeah, no. Not really.

Nah, I think it's about what women find fascinating and realizing the hard work that's involved.

Don't you know yet that women don't do stuff for men? They do things (makeup, clothes, exercise/good bodies) for other women. Duh!

I saw Daniel tonight at the gym. He's lost 148lbs!!! He looks great! He said that all the contestants are weighing in on Sunday morning. I can't quite figure out the reasoning behind that, other than they don't want all the contestants looking dehydrated and pale at the Finale on Tuesday. Just wanted to update everyone on his progress!!

Wow! Sounds like he's right on track to keep it off. I wish him well.

I just bought some Jillian Michaels stuff -- the book mentioned here plus two dvd's, another book, and a box full of 50 different exercise routines. Guess I'm gonna get Jillianized. :)

There's also a Wii game. My sis bought it and one of those Wii boogie boards.

(I figure I'll get it from her cheap here in about 6 months) :)

Hehehehe!!!

I keep saying nwo is about the time to check CraigsList and places that buy used workout equipment. All that stuff people got for Christmas with the best of intentions is probably collecting dust about now.

that's awesome...

I just heard he got a job at a Gold's Gym.

I am traveling down to N.C. in a month to visit. I have been wanting to chat with him. We belong to the same Car Club, different chapters though.

That's awesome to hear about Daniel - he's going to be really close to hitting the 50% mark at that rate, and may be a contender for the at-home contestants' prize.

I'm really glad he's doing so well - it broke my heart to watch him struggling. He's showed a lot of courage and commitment by sticking with it at home - he should be very proud of himself.

I can't wait to see what Joelle and Carla did while they were away, plus the other woman who was eliminated, but came back and was eliminated again the first week back...can't remember her name right now. She was on with her then-fiance...;)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
