I was thinking back after a previous post about how much I have changed. I used to eat REALLY bad. I had basically given up. I would do Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins, but it would last a month or a couple weeks and I would eat badly again. I've come a long way, baby!

I used to eat this in a day:

B - cheese bagel AND an apple fritter or fast food Breakfast

L - Lean cuisine or pita bread w/ avocado and Tomato, diet soda (if at work, since I wouldn't want people to know how bad I ate.) If it was the weekend, I would probably drive through somewhere, Jack in the Box was my favorite...I haven't even been there since being banded!

D - McDonald's food, maybe a big mac meal, or some things off the dollar menu. When they had big macs (2 for $3) I actually would get 2 and eat them. It makes my stomach hurt to just think about it!

S - Cookies, candy, or something like that, but exorbitant amounts! (Like I could eat a whole package of cookies in 2 days!!)

Now, I had healthy phases, where I tried eating only organic (I still do that) or where I only ate brown rice, whole wheat, etc... but it never lasted long. I CRAVED junk food!!! There were days when I had fast food 3x in one day! The thought now makes me want to puke!

~~~~~~~~
Now on a bad day, I might make a plate of nachos (a dessert plate) w/ a serving of chips (6) and a serving of cheese (1 oz)
on a bad day now, I might have 4 hershey kisses
I might have an extra fudgsicle, or an extra helping of dinner, an hour later... but it's NOTHING like what it was before.
That makes me happy!!!!!!!!!
I'm losing weight (a little more slowly now) but I can also see the changes I've made!
I've been thinking the same thoughts lately. During the past few days things have been hectic with xmas and all....so as a result I've done a few meals ala fast food - which USED to be the norm, but it was much less and unbelivably not nearly as good as it used to be! I'm looking forward to the new year knowing it will be a much healthier one in years past!
Froggy -
I can't believe how I have changed too. And when I go to resturants I am appalled at how much people eat!!!
The regular portions are huge! It would take me 5 days to eat what people are shoveling down in one meal.
I have to be careful with non-banded friends because they can eat a full dinner. I am almost sick by the time they are done.
I can see how I got fat eating what I thought were "normal" portions and, of course a bunch of "snacks". I ate all day constantly. Yeesh!
My band helps me be normal. Yea!:tounge_smile:
      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.
      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
