How Does One Overeat?

Recommended Posts

I see alot of posts where people are saying they can / do over eat.

How does one over eat with the band on? Is the hole not small enough in the begining? All I can think of is the stomach/pouch is so much smaller now so how can you over eat and not be in pain (does it hurt?).

Thanks so much :)

Once I hit the perfect restriction, there's no way I could overeat, no matter how much my head says I want to.

If someone ate heaps of chocolate or milkshakes and the like though (those things go down relatively easy and are not 'solid'), that could affect them.

Thank you Parvathi,

Forgive me.... so does that means that they are not stretching the pouch, they are just eating the wrong foods and to much?

I just want to understand.

NJChick...

I feel like I overeat, and its not on chocolate and milkshakes. I can eat for example like two scrambled eggs and two pieces of sausage links. That seems like its more than a cup of food. I don't get the pains or anything that people talk about. I felt a handful of times the food get "stuck", but that was me not chewing enough. Tonight for dinner I had a meatball parm. I ate the meatballs and cheese and skipped the bread. That was a lot. I really felt full after having finished all that. I think that the feeling of full comes different for people. I think some people have pain, others can eat what they want. There really is no perfect science for this I don't think. I am however losing weight...I have lost a little over 40 pounds since I started all this. I had my surgery on 05/05/05......Soooo my feeling is this....as long as your not in pain, and your not vomiting, and your losing weight, your doing all right. Your body will let you know when your full or when you have done something "wrong"...

I hope this is helpful!

Graze all day

Drink small sips of Water with meals

Figure out which foods go through easily and overdo those

PB then eat some more

Unfortunately, there are lots of ways.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
