Yay on the formula Laura, who woulda thought???

Glad Haydee and Michelle arrived safely and on time, hope they have a wonderful time! With Pamela for a hostess, it is a given!!!

Got dinner almost done, just waiting for Rick to show up. I sucked it up and stopped in Walmart to get some things, only going there because I needed some non food things too, one of which was make up. Got all my stuff together, stopped to grab the make up, and they are out! Grrrrrrr that means some other shopping excursion this weekend! I always spend money when that happens!!!

Gas here is $2.62 a gallon, for regular grade unleaded gas, and we are smack in the middle of oilfields and refineries too! There has been an ongoing investigation as to the why for a couple of years now......price gouging, plain and simple!

SIL still in the hospital, not looking any better. Band Dr. has now told her he will NOT treat her any longer, that if she wants his input on her health she has to come there, he will not confer and treat over the phone. So now he is the bad guy, and I am an idiot for still using him......gimme a break!!! They were never honest with him anyway, what the hell good was he doing???? But yeah, this is all HIS fault, uh huh.......(insert me rolling my eyes here....)

Better go toss some salad fixin's together----see y'all later. So glad this week is over!

Hey Girls~

We had a blast! I have 4 pix to put up on FB, but it seems the site is down. If I can't get them up soon, I'll email to you...but they are big (and I have not figured out how to resize Terry).

We had dinner and drinks (actually only one killer one called the Cadillac!). Their room is beautiful and has amazing views of our mountains!

I'll have more pix tomorrow...off to try to post on FB now.

So jealous, great pics!!!!

Carson is fussy, I read online it takes a week to know if formula change was a good thing. BLAH.

He has stopped eating so much, he was eating 4oz by 2 weeks old, doc said he won't overeat, so let him eat. Now he eats 2oz at a time.. losingjusme said her 4 month old just started eating 4oz!!!! Carson was eating 6oz before I swapped formulas.. Sheesh.. my lil piggy.

Good Saturday Morning.

I loved, loved, loved the pics from Cali. All of you are so beautiful.

I'm up and going to get my housework done so I can spend the rest of the day in the pool. Lucky me.

Last night I was watching Dateline and around 9:30 a guy I went to school with was on FB and he wanted to chat. We have talked alot since he registered. We had been chatting for about a few minutes when he said that he was having problems with chat and he wanted to know if he could call me. We had talked on the phone before. So he calls and we talked and talked and talked. Finally he said his phone battery was going out and we ended up saying good bye. We had been on the phone for over an hour and a half. We had such a good talk and wondered why we never talked like that in school. It was fun and I look forward to doing it again.

Hoping that all of you have a great weekend. Chat with you soon.

Point taken! Either way, it sounds like one heck of a b-day! :)

Tell him the violets say Happy B-Day :)

Macy stayed well. At least well enough to go to her Aunts house for the weekend. I am just praying real hard that it is just allergies and that I do not get the dreaded call in the middle of the night that she is sick. That has only happened one when she was just probably right at 4 years old...if that. She was at my moms and it was about 1 AM when mom called. Macy wanted me...so here we go in the middle of the night in the pouring rain....and I do mean POURING. We get there and she was so hot and weak and limp and whimpering. Needlesss to say just being able to get to her to take her home made macy and I both feel so much better.

I looked at the first pic that pam e-mailed and was instantly jealous...lol. They look like they are having a blast!!

Have a great day everyone. Respect the pouch!

I'm off for a day of pampering with my DD. Rick is going to end up working a good part of the day. They ok'd his guys for some OT---and the only way they can get it is if one of the supervisors/foremen stays with them. Rick knows some of them really need the $$$ and remembers being there himself, so guess who is staying. His olive branch to me, since this is my day off, was to tell me to take Manda and Abbey and go get pedi's etc. Well Abbey of course, her DH (and that D is not for dear or darling!) has plans for them....guilted her into changing her mind. But Manda and I are going anyway. Something needs to shock Abbey into standing up for herself!

I agree, the CA pics were great, I am so glad they are having such fun!

Next weekend our little town has a celebration, called Fiesta Days. They have a carnival in town, and parades, and pet shows, and cook offs, all kinds of things going on all weekend long. So in order to have Kinsey around for that, she let her go to her Dads this weekend, so this will be some rare Mom/Daughter alone time for Manda and I. Personally I think we need it, she has been kinda snippy a time or 2 lately, and I want it STOPPED!!! LOL

When Rick does get off, we are going for a ride with Becky & Gary and going to dinner. Not sure where yet.

Got my car title in the mail today! It is mine, all mine!!! Rick keeps teasing me about me saying I refuse to buy again for years to come---by asking me if I want this new car or that new car, or when we see the big tent sales----I always respond with an adament NO--so tonight when I see him, I am going to tell him Manda and I went and test drove a new Camaro and I want one!! LOL

Wish my DD would get it in gear!!!!!!

Will check in with you girls tonight.

Wow I am so jealous of the pictures. Haydee, Pamela and Michelle look wonderful (and are drinking things that look mighty tasty I might add).

Laura, that was great news with the formula being covered by insurance. I never even would have thought to ask. If you can't take that case of other formula back, I think you might be able to sell it (although I remember Craig's list or whatever you were using gave you a lot of angst with weird people).

As far as donations for those in need, I think they are covered under programs that provide all formula for free if they use the program. My sisters husband got laid off and she now receives all of her formula for free. I think the people that need it the most are those that make a limited income and are living paycheck to paycheck.

I had a doctor's appointment last Thursday and expressed some concern in that I was not feeling as much movement. They did a biophysical profile on the baby and she scored a 10 out of 10. The weird thing is, I could see her kicking on the screen but I couldnt feel it. How weird is that??? The tech said she is kicking into the placenta so that might be part of the reason that movement has gone down so much. Also she is too big to move around or change positions anymore.

Anyways, one thing I did find out is that she is very small. She is estimated at 5 pounds 7 ounces which could vary in either direction when she is born. That puts her in the 3rd percentile (meaning out of 100 babies she would be the 3rd from the smallest). Because of this, they now want to do ultrasounds and fetal monitoring every visit and the doctor wanted to see me a few days later rather than the usual week between visits.

She said if anything looked funny at all when I go in on Monday, she will want to induce me at that point . . . so maybe a baby on Tuesday but I am not sure.

Sounds like my DD Heather, her baby suffered from intrauterine growth restriction---she simply quit growing---she did NOT quit maturing tho! She was a 4 pounder, and did not grow for at least 2 weeks. Her lungs continued to develop etc, and she never needed a bit of oxygen or anything. She was perfect in every way, just a wee one!

She remains in the lower percentile in height, and has never even made the charts in weight. For her first 2 years the only chart she EVER made was for head size!!! We laugh, it may be in the low range, but hey she made the chart!!!

I would relax, enjoy the comfort of the extra care---she is a good weight---nothing extreme either way!! How exciting!

My DIL carried my grandson with the placenta in a forward position, and she felt very little movement, and now the one she is pregnant with, the placenta is attached in a different area, and we can see his movements clearly, and she feels them much stronger she said!! Who would have even thought it mattered!!!

So excited for you!!!

Well the ultrasound weight measurement is generally way off. Coworkers wife they said he was like 5lb and he was 8..and they said Carson was nearly 9lb and he was 7.5lb.

I did get the shirt suzie, remind me.. what is the significance of the school? Pretty colors though!!

Carson has been up and crying all morning.. :)

Russ just left to get me waffle house. Carson hasn't pooped since we were at work yesterday, so I have him 2oz of Water. Still nothin yet. I am so tired.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
