Hi everyone

Kat that is so great, and a good thing she has her spunk back. LOL

Tracyk- i'm going on to myspace this morning

hey everyone

I'm feeling better, stomach is still making crazy noises and touch and go but the antibiotic is working and not making me horribly sick. DS has been sick, no fever, just tossing and turning saying he doesn't feel well, he woke up this morning feeing great, so nice to see

I am borderline needing a fill, when my gall bladder came out i stopped pb'ing almost instantly, it was so swollen it was messing with my insides. Last night i was able to eat 1/2 Reubin - ok only half and only 2 fries, but it was huge... but mmmmmmmmmmm so yummy. They are my favorite thing in the entire world.

I got my new sneakers yesterday so Monday back to the gym! yipee

I am going grocery shopping this weekend and going to get stuff for the mederterrian diet. I need to start eating all food groups including grains. I have printouts if anyone wants it. It worked for my pre surgery weight so i'm going to give it a try.

On another happy note, i got the Rachae Ray magazine yesterday and there were great things in there, one being ham and sweet potatoe cakes. I love potato pancakes and these just look so good.

I'm going to clean my room today and work on cleaning out the garage, i'm so tired of clutter

have a great day everyone!

Just popping in.. we have childbirth class today & tomorrow from noon-6, so my day is pretty much full!!

Kat, I watch Grey's Anatomy, I watched 40m of it last night--plan to finish it today before our class so I'll fill you in. Not sure what the Izzy question is, remember she did the test last week and it said she was anemic and other lady had cancer.. lady came in this week and said they swapped the bloodwork--she was anemic (which means Izzy has cancer).

Good morning, Violets..

Lazy day here today. I'm going to do laundry, help the Bobster clean out under the kitchen sink and start sorting out clothes for Hawaii next month. Other than that, it's just waiting for the snow to hit.

Everyone have a great day!! I just finished my tuna/soynuts/oranges. How 'bout you?

Morning violetas~

Jenn, I would like to see what you got on the Med. diet. I eat many of those foods anyway...plus a shitload of junk. But yes please, can you send some my way!!

We just got home from the gym. We are going to have a quick cup of coffee, a quick shower, and we are heading out to San Diego for the day!!! I am really excited because I haven't been in so long, and it will be nice just to get away and relax after a busy couple of weeks. Yeah!

Have a great day!

Laura...so excited about the birthing classes! I think we need an updated bump pix! xoox

Good mornin' all-

Hows it?

I love myspace! I am getting to talk to folks I haven't seen in years. I still need I think Laura, Pamela and TracyinKS to accept my friend requests....if we are friends that is....

I am waiting to find out if my dss and dsd are coming over today. Dss has been so sick lately. The past couple of times it has only been dsd come over cause he is so sick and I do not want him to think we don't WANT him here....just can't afford for him to come get US sick, ya know?:tt2:

Have a great day everyone! Respect the pouch...

I don't have MySpace, I do have Facebook, but that is it, not enough time to fit other stuff in!!! LOL Heck I don't even get much moderating done here, I monitor a few threads here and there, but am not doing like I probably should.

Manda called this morning, she was crying, and scared the crap outta me. SHE is fine, but a friend had died, and she doesn't know how or what happened. She works with his brother, and she said he was crying when he told her and that of course got her going.

She said the sleeping issues have improved, and she feels much better, the drugs are moving out of her system, and she is doing better. We talked while she gave herself the push IV....so she seems to be doing fine. She sees the Dr. on Tuesday and is hoping to get a release to go back to work.

Rick is on jury duty for the month of March. The schedule shows him having to appear in 3 different courts a total of 9 times through the month, and then we got a postcard adding one more. It is going to suck in a major way, they are not being allowed to comp any time at all, so time lost he will completely lose....while the courts will pay him only if he is chosen for a jury. So when he appears and wastes all morning while they do the questionning of potential jurors----he is just losing time at work. When we can least afford it, and he should not be gone from work....he is not thrilled!

Waiting anxiously for the temperature outside to warm up a bit, and I am going riding! So excited!!!

Well I need to look up an order, and get busy, my house is in need, everything is....I let it ALL go!!!

So I better do something. And oh yeah, I should peruse some threads!! LOL

Talk to y'all later!!

Kat

lalalalalalalala!! Typical weekend,eh??

It's SNOWING here!! The Bobster just went out to get some more bird seed. They are flocked by the feeder, so that means we're going to get lots of snow.

Got the bedroom all cleaned and dusted and now going to get some clothes picked out for our next cruise.

judy...you and your cruises! I swear I am so jealous!

Well, I never went on any cruises until my late, late 50's after we retired. This cruise coming up is to Celebrate 40 years of marriage and you know how long that must have taken!!

On Bob and Judy's next cruise they need to take a trunk and fit us all in and take us.

Back from church and the bake sale. They wiped us out clean. I hope that tomorrows people bring enough for the Sunday masses.

Not much else going on. Everyone wanted pizza for dinner so I just placed the order. Hubby and I are going to watch the 3rd "The Mummy" movie. We love Brendan Fraser.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
