Hey Everyone,

:rose:I went to our support group meeting and it was a really good one. We atarted out with since it is Valentine's, why don't we talk about relationships. Not just with our spouses but with our families and with co-workers. It was an eye-opener. Really good. It ended with flim crew from a local station filming us for an up coming show that they are doing on support groups. I'm going to be a star. :heart:Do you guys want my autograph?

:rose:Came home and grabbed hubby and we went to a new Bar & Grill that opened a few weeks ago.:rose: A Bike Bar. I had a margi and hubby had a beer, we shared a plate of nachos and we didn't even eat all of it. :rose:He's in taking a nap now and I'm going to be headed to church here soon. I'll stop at Papa Murphy's on the way home and pick up a couple of pizzas for all of us.

:wilted_rose:Hope everyone is having a great day.:tt2:

Hugs, hugs, hugs and more hugs. :rose:

Good evening, Violets..

Ethan's dad got here at 4:45 to pick him up. That was really cutting it close. We made it to the dinner in time. I didn't eat any of the appetizers, only about 1/4 cup of the french onion Soup with the bread taken out, 1 piece of some kind of pork, a little salad and about 4 spoonfuls of tiramisu. All in all, I think I did pretty good. I hope I get rewarded tomorrow morning, but I'm guessing it will stay the same.

The Bobster is guest preacher at a church over an hour from here so he'll be leaving at 6:30 tomorrow morning. I'll get up at 7 and head to church. My choir guys are doing a special piece with African drums. I hope it goes over well.

Laura... you have the exact same crib that Kris does, except hers is a lighter wood. Your nursery looks awesome. Hers isn't even started yet!!! Course they don't know what she's having so they will wait til they find out if it's Grady or Madison.

Everyone have a good evening. I'm one pooped Grandma.

Hope things are going well for Manda, Kat.

Well another day with little change, and what change we did have was for the worse. There is swelling, more redness, and it seems to be slowly coming down her neck.

The ENT has several calls to try to find a hosp. to transfer her to. In order to transfer her, he has to have a Dr. to hand her off to, and they hear what all has been tried and tested, and are unwilling to take her on as a patient. He is trying both ABQ and Denver. Hoping to hear back from someone tomorrow, many of them are not available over the weekend.

They are trying a new approach now. The medication they have been hitting her with so hard is a complilation of very potent anti bacterial antibiotics. She has been on 3 oral meds, and now 4 strong IV meds, for weeks with no response. So beginning today they are going to try some anti fungal meds to see if they make a difference. One of the things they considered was TB! But her test is not showing any results....which makes it negative.

I want her to get help. I want her well. How I am going to do it if they take her out of town I have no idea. Having Kinsey puts a whole new light on things, not sure how I will handle it. If she goes to ABQ, I will go down for a night leaving Kinsey with my folks, then come home, and we will just make a couple of round trips a week----it is about 190 miles one way. If they get her in in Denver, I will just take off with her, and rely on family there to help with her and not worry....they have many kids in the general age range, she has lots of cousins up there.

But my hope is that the fungal meds make a HUGE improvement overnight.

The wierd thing is, the incision has never even bled! They closed it with 3 loose stitches in a 2.50" incision---so that it would be able to drain without causing additional swelling. It has never drained a drop or bled a bit...it is dry.

The surgeon said cutting into her neck and those glands was like cutting wood. I am so confused, and scared, and lost it is impossible to even tell you.

Valentines Day....whoopee!

Actually I was sleeping soundly at about 7 this morning when I am woke up with Kinsey yelling "Granny!!!" It's Easter and the Easter Bunny brought me a big balloon and bears and candy! I laughed at her and told her it was not Easter it was Valentines Day and the balloon and one bear was from Mommy, and the white was from Papa and I. She wanted to talk to her Mommy------and Manda no sooner answered the phone and Kinsey was grilling her about leaving the "hostible"!!! Finally I told her that Mommy was too sick to shop so she gave me money and told me what to buy, but she did not leave. I guess she thought she left, went shopping, and dropped everything here, and just left without her. She settled down then! Not settled down enough to go back to sleep mind you!

So we got up, and made some Rice Cripsy treats, and no bake Cookies. We used a big silicone heart pan---and made Rice Crispy treats for Connor, and a no bake cookie one for Mommy. And she is a good cooker!

She is spending the night with her Dad tonight....seems quiet without her here. Especially since now Rick is sick with the stomach crud...and sleeping on the floor in front of the fireplace!

So, so much for going out! He tossed some steak on the grill, I steamed some veggies, and now I am eating ice cream! WTH........

Laura the nursery is adorable.

I talked to my cousin who is pregnant with twins, today, she called to check on Manda. She said at first her DD who is turning 4 next month wanted to name both babies Lucy. Then when they found out there is a boy and a girl, she changed her mind and now wants to name the boy Spongebob and the girl Sandy!! LOL And her niece Gracie who is 7 is DEAD serious she wants them to name them Mat (her spelling) and Pat. Because my cousins given name is PATricia, and his is MATthew!!! She thinks because she said it, it should be!!! They really are thinking of Mattea and Patrick, twisting their names.....but like she said that is liable to change many times before they get here!!

Well I am going to go clean up the kitchen, and throw in a load of laundry---------my usual schedule is shot to heck!

XOXOX

Happy Heart Day y'all!

Kat

Kat~ I hold my breath every time I read your updates! I am saying prayers and sending you and your family positive healing thoughts sista! Love you!

Well ladies, after a very long freakin' time...I have just got word that ch. 4 and 5 are approved. I am to fix a few grammatical things and make some VERY small changes and send them out to the committee. OMG. I can't stand it! I worked on this from 8-3 today, started my Table of Contents too. And now...I can barely breathe. Even though it is 8:15, and I don't normally work well this late...I am going over to the other puter to work now. I can't stand it...want to make things right now...and send it off!

Have a great night!

Kat, I hope that the anti fungals do the work. It is sure hard when we all know how far medical technology has come, to have them guessing what 'might' work. I hope they can find an answer soon!! How is Manda holding up emotionally with all this unknown stuff? Crazy, hopefully they will find something soon!!

Hearing weird noises in my house tonight. I am on the third floor, so nobody can come in a window or anything like that. Just odd noises. I only have one door to my house and that is locked. Weird. Oh well I hope everyone had a nice valentines day. I have done very good this week with my eating. I hope next week I can follow suit!!

Good Morning, Violets..

The Bobster is on the road and I am up and getting ready for church.

Kat.. I too hold my breath when I see a post from you. I keep praying that there will be good news soon and the new meds will do the trick. You've all been through so much. My heart aches for you.

PamELa.. you're on your way to that Doctorate!!! I'm so proud of you! Sounds like ZR was not too bad for you......yet?

My weight stayed the same today. Just as I suspected. I'm going to kick up the exercise this week and see if that makes a difference. I still have the eating under control which I am so thankful for.

Jane...congrats on your fill and eating well. I know having that tool working again will make a big difference in your weight and your perspective.

Everyone have a good day. I'll check in after church and see if there are any updates.

Kat - why are they wanting to move her? What can the other hospitals offer that they can't? Better specialists? I'm just heartbroken for you all. Did they ever confirm the RP dx or is that still up in the air as well? Is she eating alright? I imagine all those powerful drugs must be making her feel pretty yucky. I'm so very sorry, honey. You sound pretty good considering. You are taking SUCH good care of Kinsey, keeping her calm, happy and distracted. I can't stress enough how grateful I am that she has you. You are a WONDERFUL mom and grandmother, and that's a gross understatement. Eat all the damn ice cream you want.

TracyinKS - we sure do miss you! Dontcha love us anymore?

TracyK - hope you're doing good in Coushatta! I imagine those slots are pretty tight these days. Do you ever play blackjack? That's DH's game. I like video poker, but only at certain casinos! I think next time we go to Vegas I'll just take my money to the MALL! DH keeps himself very entertained at the blackjack tables and I just lose all the money he makes!!! Kinda stupid.

Judy - kicking up the exercise will work. Or maybe get off the dang tuna and soy nuts!! LOL shake up your diet with, oh, I dunno.....anything else!? :)

Janie - I can really 'hear' the difference in your posts since you got your fill! You sound so much more in control! It's a great feeling and I"m so happy for you! Hope the boogey man didn't get you! You OK?

Pamela - Wow...I can't believe you're almost DONE!! What I really can't believe is just a few measly months ago you were thinking of trashing the whole project!!? So how does this process work from here?? What's next? And when do we have to start calling you Dr. K and kissing your ring? :scared2:

Michelle - Does DH get back today? Is he gonna be all TAN? That would irk me more than anything! LOL

Haydeeeeeeee - Hi! Whazzup in your world? Did you and Juan start your relationship counseling thing yet? How's it going?

Laura - The nursery is just DARLING!! Ya'll did a fantastic job. I can't remember what you told us....what's your plan for childcare when you go back to work? How much time will you take off?

Nothing new really in my world. I have been cooking almost every night for the last month which is WAY out of character for me! It's part of my austerity program :crying: But, I am actually a pretty good cook (I just hate it) and it's nice to have food in the fridge all the time! But all in all my eating has not been good -- lots of sweets and bread. I wish I could live on chocolate. I'm not gaining but my head's not in the game at all.

Speaking of which, DH and I are going out for Valentine's brunch this morning...no way in hell we were gonna fight the crowds last night! Even the grocery store was about twice as busy as normal yesterday....at 10:00 in the morning!! There were lots of men in there scrambling around. LOL

I suppose I've rambled enough for now.... Ya'll have a good day....and light a candle for Manda, k?

Good Morning, Vi's,

Kat, all my love for you. You ARE doing an AMAZING job holding it all together & caring for Kinsey... keep taking it one day/hour/moment at a time... we are here for you!!

Yes, dh returns today... I doubt he's tan, as he doesn't even like the beach or the pool, but he did say that he got a sunburn on his bald head one day while walking & photographing... heh heh heh... am I all that evil if that makes me laugh??

As for me... I just keep chugging along...

Make it a great day, everyone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
