Shrinkin' Violets Part 3 Read HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Violets~

Slept like a baby and had a dream about my diss! LOL...too funny. Yes Terry, this has been an 8 year journey. Many ups and downs, quits and starts...plenty of tears and popcorn. You wouldn't believe my eating yesterday. I sat here 7 hours working and ate and munched all day. Finally made popcorn which I rationalize as ok because I drink so much Water (w/ CL) when I munch popcorn. Also, it should be mentioned that it is low fat/low cal...low taste popcorn, no butter no salt.

Terry, my next steps are waiting for feedback from committee (but once the chair approves it...edits are moderately minor), work on abstract, table of tables, table of contents, more edits...and then my chair sends out available dates for me and the committee to meet to defend the dissertation. I meet w/ them...they drill me w/ questions, they ask me to leave the room, I go outside and cry, then they ask me back and GOD WILLING...they say, "Congratulations Dr. K!" Most people will have pass w/ minor or major edits...but the key word is pass! Then I am a doctor. Whew...sounds so easy doesn't it!

We have a busy day today. Going an hour away to go to the comminsary (sp) to shop, out to Breakfast, home order cake for niece's party, then at 4 we go to her softball party. Then at 5:45ish, we go to Boomers (a kid place w/ bumper cars, video games, boats, etc) for niece's party.

Gotta go do some online work...neglected it this week w/ diss stuff.

Have a great day!

Terry, I do feel better, the fill has really helped, plus the blood thing had me totally freaked out!! I think I am normal again or as normal as can be!!!

No boogey man here, I never did figure out what the deal was. Weird. Maybe the person down below, although I NEVER hear her was doing something odd.

Way to go Pam, I am sure that is such a relief!!

Feel better Jen!!

Prayers go out to all the violets but especially Kat and her family!!!

Kat just called and they are transfering Manda to Albuquerque, she had an allergic reaction to the medicine they gave her last night so they are flying her into Alb. Kat said last time her Dad was in they didn't have wi-fi access. Told her to drive safe and we all love her!!

Janie, Thanks for the info on Kat and Manda.

Glad to hear that your fill is working out for you. Hope this gets you on the losing side. I remember when hubby went to work at night and I was all alone here at the house. I couldn't get over how much noise the house made. It creeped me out. I finally realized that if the cats didn't react than it wasn't anything to worry about. Still spooky though.

Horrible eating day and just in time for my Doctor's appointment. Just lovely.

Too quite around here. Can't wait for everyone to get back and things get back to somewhat normal.

I sure hope that I didn't do or say anything to make TracyKS leave us. If I did, I am truly sorry. I miss having her here and keeping us accountable. Keeping my fingers crossed that she forgives me and decides to return.

Everyone have a great evening and a great big hug to Kat.

Good evening, Violets..

Well, it's definitely after church! I came home and cleaned a bit, got my choir guy's anthem posted on Facebook and emailed it to them and then took a longgggggggggggggg nap. When I got up, the Bobster was ready for supper. I had some left over ham and was hungry for the ham and cheese Soup, so I sent him out for the few things I needed and we just finished having that for supper. It was super good!!!

Piehole report for today

Breakfast.. tuna salad/soynuts/mandarin oranges

Lunch...1 cup of cream of broccoli soup 1/2 apple

Snack...handful of cashews

No No... I broke down and had a slice of homemade cinnamon swirl bread and thankfully pb'd it. That'll teach me.

Supper...1 and 1/2 cups ham and cheese soup

2 liters water

I'm going to go up and do my exercise when Desparate Housewives comes on.

I'm so, so upset about Kat and Manda. What an awful thing for her to have to go through. I just wish we were closer to give her some in person support. I can't imagine what it would be like if anything like that happened to Kristin. I hope that they can do something in Alb. that will make a difference and get her on the road to recovery. They continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Everyone have a good evening.. hug your kids and sleep well.

Did anyone watch Datelines 10 wildest rides tonight? #3 was a Water rapids situation. You know I bet Tracyks, Haydee, and Terry (my saviours!) can tell you about the rapids in Gruene!!!

Kat said she is driving home tonight 200 mile drive, watching Kinsey tomorrow and then going back to Alb. Tuesday with Kinsey.

I have piddled around my spare bedroom trying to become organized. Not real successful, but not a failure either!! Lets just say it is a work in progress!!

I hate when Mondays are a holiday, I like to have my Monday to myself, not share it with others!! I want the bank to be open and mail to come!! Sorry just being selfish!!!

I hope Tracyk comes back a winner from the casino!! By the way Laura how did you do in Tunica?

Okay I am rambling now, bye!!!!!!!

Good Morning,

I have a very long day ahead of me. Work and than I go for a fill. After that I will meet up with my friend Judy for KS. So it will be late tonight before I check in.

Janie Thanks for the update. I know what you mean about having a holiday on your day off. I like t have thing normal even though they deserve a day off too.

Morning Laura, Are you up because of Connor? I love the pics of his room. You are so organized. I would have waited till I was coming home to have done something. Your going to make an excellent Mom.

Everyone have a great day and I'll let you know how my weigh-in went.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
