Surgery in 3 days and i am nervous

Recommended Posts

I will be banded on monday November 24th and I am really starting to get nervous. I feel like a kid waiting for christmas day to get here. It is all I can think about. I am even having a hard time sleeping at night and my stomach is constantly roaring. I am very excited to start my new journey.

I will post after surgery to let everyone know how things went.

Good luck!

I am 3 days post-op and I felt the same exact way. I was just ready to get going. The night before I got super nervous. Kind of like "why on earth am I doing this" but my husband and friends kept me focused and now I'm in bandlandia.

Keep up the good work and let us all know how you did after surgery.

I am almost two weeks post op and was the same way. I did everything from get a massage to take long aromatic bathes to get my mind off of it. I finally just got out of the house and saturated myself of other things. That was the only thing that worked.

I was packed WEEKS before my surgery!:)

I remember how I was in the last few days prior to my surgery. It is such an exciting time! You are both nervous about the surgery part, and excited to finally be starting your new life. Before you know it, you will be an official bandster and on your way. Let us know how everything goes.

I know what you are going through. I set to have surgery on 11-25-08, I am nervous yet I find myself almost unable to contain myself due to the excitement. Good Luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
