Elevation and restriction

Recommended Posts

Holy cow! That's all I gotta say. We went to the mountains in Utah this weekend, elevation 11,000 feet. After riding in the blazing heat for 6 hours, then hiking up the hills and all over the resort with our luggage, all I could manage all night were a few raisins. I tried dinner at 9:00 p.m. but could hardly get down Soup.

I need to move to high ground! I totally forgot what the band is all about, now I need a port really bad because that was the best restriction ever.

Isint it great..I get that whenever I go up to the cabin in Big bear..

Strange how altitude, flying, humidity, barametric pressure affects our bands

I lost in Yosemite 5,000/7,000 feet, didn't even think about food.

11K too cool

At work all I do is test in Azimuth and Elevation, antenna test terms.

I already live at 6,000 ft.

Hmmmm does that mean at sea level I'd be wide open? Come to think of it - I have been to sea level a few times since being banded, and it did seem like I had less restriction.

I'll have to take a trek up to Leadville (11,000 ft +) and see what happens.

Yay, I'm going to Colorado Springs next weekend. Flying AND high elevation! Whoo hoo, you mean I might actually have restriction and not this "see food eat food" thing I'm doing now??

Wow....imagine the possibilities.....

Vera, you crack me up cause I have no idea what the heck you're talking about. And now I'm intrigued at the idea of "less restriction at sea level." Things that make you go hmmmmm....

I'm off to 6,000 feet elevation this weekend. That's still not 11,000, but I'm going to see if I feel a difference.

I really need to get serious about getting my new port because that restriction was so awesome. I ordered a full meal, with salad. Chris ordered a full meal with Soup. I traded in my entire meal just for his appetizer soup, which wasn't even easy going down. I brought my entire meal, plus salad up to my room and ended up throwing away a baby-back rib dinner! ME, throwing away ribs? Elevation rocks!

We were at a ski resort in Brianhead, UT, which is up the mountain from Cedar City. Boy, I sure wish we could travel more and more and more. I'm one of those that can't wait to retire and buy a Winnebago! Wanna come?

It sound great, I was in the Uintah Mountians on a camping trip east of Salt Lake City. Weekends are great aren't they. I plan on returning to the Mountians for the next two weekends for camping trips and then going into Salt Lake City for shopping on the third weekend. I would like to retire too but I don't have enough money to live the life style I like without the pay check.

Whenever my DH comes to visit me at school he has amazing restriction. I'm considering whether I should get a fill before I go back to school. I have almost a month to decide though.

I just spent a miserable 5 days in NY. The heat was terrible, and my band hates the heat.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
