Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Looking for female who went from approx 300lbs, down to a healthy weight

Hello,

I was banded may 22nd 2008, and im looking for a mentor, someone i can personally talk to thats living proof i can "get there" too. i was approx. 325lbs, and have currently lost approx. 56lbs. and i always question if its enough. i have a hard time being able to imagine ever being a "normal" size/weight again, even tho im losing. i had a very hard time getting rid of my clothes, but i did it, but i couldnt see they were too big, my husband had to convince me of it. im a very fashion oriented person....hair,make up, clothes, accessories, i love it all, so it was hard to say good by to my clothes.

i have a lot of questions.....

im struggling.....please help me if you can....

Believe it or not it can be done. I was banded in Jan. 2007. I started at 305# and I now weigh 130#. I am healthy and it feels great. You are doing a great job!!! Just remember dear, you didn't gain it over night and you're not going to lose it overnight either!!! I'm here if you need someone to talk to.

WOW.....congrats Michelle!!!!! thank you so much for responding. thats so unbelieveable to me, and you totally inspire me. i want to get there soooo bad...just cant imagine it yet. do you have any tips for me? what did you eat? did/do you exercise alot? do you have any excess skin problems?(that scares me)

thanks for your support.

I am 36 and so very happy where I am going with this lose you remind me of me I think I am your sister from another mother for real we sound alot alike in many ways the fashion and the seperating from clothes until last week I was pinning my pants underneath my brastrap because I just knew they still fit. I was a size 30/32 at 331lbs I am now a size 14/16 at 224lbs and plan on loosing about 50-75 more and then I will see how i feel and lok to me. If you ever need to talk let me know and I am here. My surgeon has a clothing exchange and I just took six bags of clothes there it helps to know others will beenfit.

Hey Corvette,

I weighed in at 340 on the day of my surgery on feb.5th 2008 and now i weigh 221 as of the morning. I am not at goal yet but i am getting there. I am going to try and lose about 60 or so more pounds.

I have been stalled about 2 months now but I think my body is just trying to ajust to all this change.. or I hope thats it anyway lol.

my email is kristy6@hotmail.com please feel free to contact me anytime if i can help I surly will try!!

Set small goals, do not look at the enire weight loss but small sections. I am 5'8". I was banded July 2007 and weighed 282 pounds, i was a size 24. On my one year anniversary I had lsot 100 pounds, and by New Years (18 months later) I reached my goal weight. I current weight 145 and am in an 8 or 10.

My first goals was to get to 250...that was all I focused on. Then i could hardly wait to get out of the 240's, then 230's, 220's... When I got to 210 i was excited by each pound knowing I was on my way to "onerderland". Once I brok the 200's I just looked forward to getting further and further away from that point. The last 10 - 15 pounds were the slowest but to be honest I felt so good even at 160 it wasn't a big deal.

You can do it!
