3mos - Am I eating too much

Recommended Posts

I have 4 band fills and I can still eat two eggs, sausage and 1 piece of toast.

Are any of you still able to eat this much? Not sure if it is me or maybe I misunderstood -- thought I would only be able to eat small amounts?

Tell me your story.

I'm 5 cc into a 9 cc Realize Band at about 2.5 months after surgery. This morning I was able to eat about 3/4 of a scrambled egg and about 1 oz of sausage. It was way too much. At lunch, I was easily able to eat twice as much, but still only about 1 cup of food, in total.

Are you staying away from drinking with your meals?

This morning I was painfully full and sliming. It took about 15 minutes to subside. When I'm full at lunch or dinner, I usually feel satiated for 3-4 hours. If I don't feel full, I drink some hot or cold herbal tea or have some sugar fee Jello. I'm amazed at how satisfying Jello can be. I always thought of it as flavored nothing, but it really helps me curb the hunger pangs.

I've had 3 fills and am round 5cc in 10cc band. I am def eating less than I was before the last fill, but still am around 6oz of meat and a cheese stick. I get hungry 3hrs later. The first week after this last fill I was only able to eat about 3oz, but by end of week 2 after I was back up to eating 6oz plus. I don't know if it is because I lost 4 pounds that first week, or if it was hormones.

i keep wondering too... some days i can only eat the cup of food at a meal and others i can eat about a cup and a half or two cups. i don't go back to the doctor until december...and right now he's happy with me losing a pound a week so he doesn't want to change anything.

Yeah I think I am in the same boat. I will be calling around for another fill today. Some things it is tiny amounts and others I cannot get enough of it. ????

I feel like I am eating too much as well. Plus my hunger comes back much sooner. I now have 3cc's and it will be a few more weeks until my next fill. My weight loss has slowed down to only 1/2 lb a week. At least it is something. I'm hoping I continue to lose and not start gaining.

I can eat 2 fried eggs but only about 3/4 of a hard boiled egg. Some foods are just natural 'sliders', so even at your sweet spot, you'll be able to consume some foods more easily as it slides past the band and doesn't give you that 'full' feeling.

Other foods are the kind that get stuck (chicken breast, and anything made of rice for me) so it's about learning which ones will make you full but won't get stuck. I'm still in that learning process myself.

I had my second fill last Thursday. I am now 2.5cc's in a 10 cc band. I got real stuck for dinner Friday night, I rushed it. But now I am loose again. I'm sure I can eat 6-8 oz of Protein. I know I can eat more but I am really trying to minimize any binges and if I binge I will eat the right things...

At 6.7 in a 10cc standard band -- strange but sometimes i can only eat small amounts and other times I have to stop myself.

Still able to eat 2 eggs and a sausage for Breakfast. have noticed scrambled eggs fill me more than the over medium.

No restrictions for me so far! Also my weight loss seems to be at a stand still.

I have only had 1 fill so far. I eat about 3-4oz of meat, and about tablespoon of salad/carbs. We went out to eat and I got 6oz steak, salad and baked potato. I only ate half and was satisfied, I ate the other 1/2 the next day.

I feel like I'm not loosing too quickly, however have dropped 10lbs since I got my fill about a month ago, so guess it's going good. I'm only down 30lbs total though, but I have slow thyroid and have NEVER been able to lose before, so feel that anything gone is GREAT!

After 3 fills (5.5 in a 10cc band) I can still eat a pretty good bit. My band is working in the sense that it keeps me from eating the things I shouldn't (bread, french fries, etc.) because they get painfully stuck but so far it doesn't make me full any faster on the things I should eat (moist chicken, salad, oatmeal, etc.)

I got seriously stuck for the first time the other day trying to eat the center out of a fried chicken breast (I know, what was I thinking!) I ended up trying to "wash" it down with a sip or two of Water (hello, can you say big mistake!) and threw up in my mouth! EWWW. I hauled it to the nearest bathroom but it sure was embarrassing. Thankfully the chicken came up with the Water and the pain subsided quickely. Note to self: NO FRIED CHICKEN.

I'm right with you! I've had 3 fills, with the first two not providing squat as far as restriction. This last fill helped some though, since I do get that pain if I push it and "negative feedback" if I don't quit after that. If I could have stuck with a diet before, I wouldn't have needed the band. Now that I am starting to get that "mechanical willpower", I actually feel hope that this will work for me. My belief in the system was starting to flag after my 2nd fill.

I'm excited again! I also joined the New Years Challenge, so look out! :smile2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
