Seriously freaking out!

Recommended Posts

Ok, guys...need some help. I had a fill on Friday...Put me at 4.5 in a 10cc band. I had super restriction when I left there. I tried to eat a salad the next day and got three bites in and could not drink anything on top of it. I felt like I was FINALLY there. Well, now, three days later, I have no restriction whatsoever. I don't understand what could have happened. I did keep my granddaughter over the weekend, and she is a chunk...27 pounds. Is it possible that lifting her could have caused my line to disconnect? I am going to call my doctor first thing in the morning. I am scared to death, cause I am self-pay and actually was banded in Mexico. Anyone with some suggestions?

I think you will be just fine. Sounds like the swelling just went down. I did not feel long term restriction until I had at least 6cc's. I still have days where I can't eat 2 bites and then the next day I feel like I could eat as much as I used to. I think it has a lot to do with hormones also. Call your Dr. anyway, just to be sure, but just remember to be patient, you will get there.

Good Luck:)

I just had my first fill today (4.5 cc's in 10cc band). My Dr. told me this would happen. He said I would have great restriction for about 3 days then it would subside. He does his first 3 fills two weeks apart for this reason. Hope this helps.

Tonya, I agree with the others....you probably just had a little bit of initial swelling which subsided. It sounds like you're getting close though, so don't get discouraged! Good luck to you!

Thanks, everyone...I was really panicking. I am definitely going back on Friday to get another fill. I can tell I am getting close. That was why I was so sure that this last fill was "it" and when all of a sudden food was going down easier....welll...you know...I freaked. :)

Like everyone else (I am sure)...this is just so important to me. I can't stand the thought of having gone through all I have and not have this work.

I hear ya, I have had one fill so far, going in a Monday for a second, and boy I can tell I need one. I can eat just about anything, english muffins, bread etc. No Pbing nothing. I know that just becuase I can doesn't mean I do, but I am hungry all the time. I haven't gained any weight, I actually have lost 36 lbs since surgery so doing well there, but I need some help with this incredible hunger. I hope things get better after another fill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
