New/Nouveau!!!Dr. Marc Savoie, Bathurst N.B.

Hi to all,

Just want to let you know that we have a new surgeon in Bathurst, N.B. who does lapband, sleeves and lapband re-route.:) I met him a couple of weeks ago and my specialist for diabetes and some nurses I know praise his performance. I don't have my date yet. He said as soon as he could get an op-room, I'll have to follow an 2 weeks SlimFast diet and then I would have the surgery.

Hi guys,

When you are on the boost,is it like a liquid milkshake? Is there any boost bars or anything else? Is the 2 weeks on boost just to lose weight before surgury or what is the reasoning behind it? Sorry so many questions? One more...Clempier have you spoke to the others that were operated on the same day since their surgury to see how they are doing?

The main reason for the boost is when your fat you usually have a fat liver.... since that for the operation Dr. Savoie will need to move youre liver, he rather move a healthy lean liver than a fatty liver.... Since the liver is an organ that can heal quite fast, just a 2 week low fat and low calorie can greatly improve liver fonction and shape..... It will also help Dr. Savoie see if we have the will power to help ourself first cuz as soon that he will open us it is quite easy to see if we have follow the diet correctly just by looking at the liver.

I dont mind the question keep them cumming...

Hi Annie & Cindy,

Like Keith, I was allowed 4 Boost diabetic every day and Water. Keith is right about the reason why we need to lose weight around our liver.

The group we're planning to start won't be before September.

The last I've heard from the two other lady who had the surgery the same day as mine was that the second lady came back to see Dr. Savoie. I don't know exactly why. I know she's diabetic and she seemed to be nervous. She said after surgery that she wasn't sure about the surgery if it was a good thing or not. Some of members of her family didn't agree about the surgery and some were saying the opposite. That's why I say how much the support is important and you have to be ready in your head and in your heart that's the right thing to do FOR YOU, no one else.

I haven't heard from the other one who was from Fredericton.

I'm happy with my surgery and I would do it again. Tomorrow I'm starting my what I call my "blender diet". I'm going to be happy to eat meat even if it's all shread by the blender.

Hi Clempier(Pierrette) ;-)

Thanks for replying, I guess 4 Boost a day is pretty good, I m almost tempted to try it for a few days to see how I would do with it. So how was your first meal of meet in the blender? I bet it was good even blended hey! ;-):sneaky:

I called my doctor and she s of on vacation until end of July but at least i got to find out that the referal to Marc Savoie was done , I just wonder how long i will have to wait before getting a call to see Marc. Anyway "la patience est une vertue"! hi hi hi

Hope everybody is enjoying this beautiful day today, I can' t wait to be done working to enjoy it too.

Cindy

Referal in August, first appointment October 16th, Blood work and ECG and treadmill March 11, 2nd apointement June 8th, surgery August 05.

I dont mind the question.... I work in a call center too so I can manage the multitasking... lol

Keith

Oh cool which call center are ya working?

The reason I was asking for the bmi is that mine is 58 and my friend Annie is 60 ..Thought maybe since it's quite high they would of rush a bit more.. anyway I guess i' ll call to see if that is the case. I hear ya with the multi tasking. hehe :eek::sneaky:

I'm working for Canada Pension Plan and Old age security. What about you....

Cindy

Hi Cindy

When did you and Annie see your family dr.? I just seen mine June 1st so I am probably looking at quite a wait!!! I am so impatient , I would love to have the surgury tomorrow.... I wonder how many patients he sees in a week? His receptionist told me he seen alot of patients last fall and he is now doing their surgeries this summer and the referrals he is recieving now he will see them in the fall.
