Frustrated with slow loss

Recommended Posts

I was banded in mid August and I've lost 16 pounds. I have 7 cc. I am counting everything I eat in Weight Watcher points and usually eating 5-10 points under what I am alloted. I've been working out on a bike 4-5 days a week. I'm very down about this. Three weeks ago I lost four pounds in a week. The next week I gained two pounds. Last week I lost one. It seems like every where I look on the site people are loosing so much more. Any advice? Thank you.

i know it may sound stupid but have you tried eating more? with weight watchers, they give you the points so that you use them. as long as you pick something healthy to get another 5 points or so your metabolism might kick into gear. your body may be going thru a starvation mode since you're not using all your points.

also, your exercise might be causing the slowing down and even the gain... of course, muscle weighs more than fat. try not to pay much attention to the scale right now and watch for body changes instead.

I know how you feel. I was banded on 9-30 and am only down 14 pounds. I haven't went in for my first fill yet, it will be on Nov 7th. Hopefully that will help me jumpstart the losing. Hang in there.

I feel the same way. I was banded 9/23 and I have lost 25 pounds but nothing for almost two weeks. I get my first fill 11/5 so I hope that helps. I have gotten rid of all the junk food that was in my house, still eat the sf Jello and stuff like that. Today I had a banana for Breakfast (I have to watch my potassium), veggie salad with low fat dressing and tuna for lunch, sf jello for snack. Will eat Protein and veggie for dinner. Not sure what yet but that is typically the drill. If I want a snack I have been keeping low fat, no fat, sf stuff on hand. Thank God for sf popsicles. I was shopping yesterday and ran into someone who said their friend was banded 7 weeks ago and they have lost about 80 pounds so far. I find that hard to believe ... but who knows. Maybe I am just gonna be a slow loser. Darn it! Anyway, thanks for being here. Very much appreciate you all. Or as we say in my neck of the woods "Yuns are all very much appreciated".

I'm with Kalipso, you could be eating to FEW calories. When I was on weight watchers they drilled this into us, and if you walk etc you need to add more points.

October, there are PLENTY of people who are slow losers. You just don't see that many of them on here because I think many of them are so frustrated/embarrassed they stay away. They do come back when the weight starts to fall off though. Anyway, I was banded on July 16 and have only lost 21 lbs since then and my weight loss has been similar to yours (gaining and losing the same 2-3 lbs before dropping them for good and then starting the next cycle with the next 2-3 lbs). Keep the faith.

Kalypso - have you notice you are no longer obese but merely overweight now? Congrats! Here's three woots to you! :w00t::w00t::w00t:

well she's right about me, i'm a slow loser and i get frustrated and stay away..i swear when i'm eating perfect and going to the gym everyday...scale likes to bounce back and forth over two pounds, i recently went up 7lbs, didn't change my habits nothing!!! and didn't want to come back to the board cause i didn't want to have to change my ticker! yeah went home last weekend at chips and Cookies at moms house (food i don't even allow myself to buy) and i lost 4 lbs in a weekend?!!!

i think what makes it better is time...as i look back and my surgery was in july thats a little over 3 months and i'm down about 30lbs, that looks good to me, looks like 10 lbs a month, lol now did it happen like that, heck NO! it was like 11 lbs one month, 3 lbs the next, ETC...and its weird...the 11 lbs month wasn't a constant losing all the time, it was losing and gaining the same 2 pounds over and over again

don't give up stay strong!

and be proud to be in the slow loser club!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
