Anyone having problems with bc/bs of ga? Just a little impatient with the wait time and all the scheduling.

Not yet, Dr just submitted my paperwork this week for approval to BCBS of Georgia. I was wondering myself how long it will take for approval. Good Luck to you.

I don't have a Ga plan, but I have Blue Choice from BC/BS in Maryland. They took 4 weeks from submission of paperwork to approval. I had to do a 6 month supervised diet prior to submission, so you could say they took 7 months, but I had very little out of pocket expense, though they don't pay for fills once you are out of the 90 day post surgery period. All in all, after reading some of the nightmares posted here, my approval process wasn't bad at all. I even used an out of network dietician and psych evaluator (paid them myself), since they were on the team that was doing my surgery. I feel for those getting an insurance runaround.

My approval request was sent off nov. 4 2008. I am so nervous. I can barely sleep. Just hope I am approved.:smile2:

I live in Florida but I don't think my B/C B/S PPO is Florida, I think because my husbands corp office is in Ohio, it might be there, I should call to find out. Does anyone have Ohio?

The doctors office told me today that it would take a week or so for them to get the paper work ready then they would submit it and they have 45 days, but it never takes that long.

I know what you mean, the waiting and wondering is so hard. I just want to hear the word approved so I can breath!!, LOL

Well it took me a week to get an actual answer and it was denied. So I will now have to appeal. This all went down yesterday, so I'm still very bummed out. Let me know how it goes with you!

Did they say why? I am still waiting I called and they said it was still being reviewed. I am still so nervous about the whole thing. Do ur appeal dont give up. We did so much to even get to this point.

Just got the letter in the Mail ok no appeal will be needed they are just missing the paperwork from the shrink which is why they denied. So I'm having them send that in until they finally get it, to relook at it and approve. I'll keep you posted with what happens.

Well I am glad everything will work out for u. I am still 1 week out and waiting .I will let u know when I get the news.
