Any December '08 Bandsters?

I know it seems like December is a ways off but really it's just less then two months away. I finalized my surgery date yesterday for Dec. 5th with Dr. Kuri. So are there any others out there with December dates looking for support and help?

I was banded yesterday and would agree to drink as much water as possible the night before, it also helps with the IV to not be too dehydrated. I took some lip balm with me to the hospital that helped me keep my lips moist. I can't think of anything else I did above what my Dr told me. I did follow my pre-op diet and am told that's why I'm doing so well post-op.

Well I have been reading this site for about two months now and have not posted anything. I have learned so much on all of the forums. I got my surgery date for Dec. 12. I have started my liquid diet and and feeling a little nervous. I pray thet everyones surgeries go without any problems and hopefully in the future we will all be on the have hit our goal forum. Good luck to all and God Bless.:cursing:

I finally have my date December 30th, and I am all approved by my insurance company so I am just waiting. I will be on the pre-op diet through Christmas, but Oh well! You have to start sometime.

First, thanks so much for all the support!! I really appreciate it!

I actually feel great today. I walked a ton and went shopping with my mom. I got tired but I think that's because I've really ingested very few calories and almost no protein on this clear liquid diet. I'm up to full liquids as of this evening and ate oatmeal with no issues. Walking definitely helps tremendously. I ate my chewable multivitamins, am weaning myself off the pain meds, and feel actually pretty normal. I can't feel the port and I dont feel weird when eating/drinking. I also have no hunger, though I'm told that doesn't last. I'm down 15 pounds from when I started the pre-op diet. I had a pretty busy day shopping and talking on the phone with friends and family and am A okay.

Thanks for all the support!

Good luck to everyone else being banded this week! You'll do great!:cursing:

My DH pooped out and he appreciated the places to rest around the place. Sue in NE

All, Not only drink water up until midnight but use the oral swabs (little Sponges on a stick, soaked in water ) a lot after surgery. It helpsmoisten your mouth and lips. I didn't use it enough because i slept a lot

Hey...congratulations! It sounds like you're doing fantastic! Your progress is so very encouraging and inspiring. Keep sending the updates our way!

My surgery is scheduled for the 16th and I'm really looking forward to being able to be off work and at the mall the week before Christmas doing my walking. I'm hoping that I'll find some great last minute deals that were I working I might have missed out on.

We are getting banded on the same day. I'm just not going back home for x-mas. Way too much temptation there.... I'll be going crazy smelling all that home cooked food.

Pre-op diet started 12/3/08

Surgery scheduled 12/30/08

I got my date last week - December 17th! I can't wait. I got all of my pre-admission testing done today along with the pre-op classes. I meet with the doctor on 16th. I know it's going to be work, but I know it will be worth it. I love reading the posts - they are all positive and it's great to see how well everyone is doing.

Hi everyone!

I'm having my procedure tomorrow. I thought I would be nervous tonight but I'm not. I'm scheduled to be there at 9:00 a.m. I know that everything will go well but if you could remember me in your prayers I would be so grateful. I promise to come back tomorrow and tell you all about my experience. I've learned so much from all of you since I started reading your post.

Received my date Dec. 16. Started pre op diet Tues, but fell short tonight about 6pm. Had to have a cup of tomato soup a 5 crackers. Felt guilty, and remorseful, but I was really ill and tired. Got my second wind now and really excited about the date. I know it will be here before I know it.:tongue2:

Hi jbyrd...looks like you and I have a couple things in common! My surgery is also on the 16th and we weigh within a couple pounds of each other with a very similar goal. Just wanted to wish you best of luck!
