New Girl in town...

Well, I'm new here. Obviously. I am going through the process of getting ready to get banded, and am completely nervous! The only thing that scares me is the actual surgery, not the change of lifestyle.

I am a 26 y/o mother of one, married to a soldier in the Army. Thank God that Tricare covers the LapBand now! I have been waiting for them to cover it, and am so ready to take this first step to the 'new/old' me! :crying:

The surgery is the easy part! :crying: You get pain meds and people take care of you. When is your date, do you know yet?

The surgery really is pretty easy. I was surprised at the discomfort I felt afterward...intellectually I knew there would be discomfort, but I was still surprised by it. It only lasted a couple of days and I am fit as a fiddle now. My surgery was at 11:30 AM and I was home by 4 PM. They gave me a narcotic for pain, but I only used it a couple of time. I didn't really need it, but I was afraid I would start to hurt and didn't want that to happen. I managed just fine with liquid tylenol. Good luck!
