I feel the same way all of you do. I was told 4-6 weeks liquids. I couldn't do it at just before my 2 week post-op I started mushy foods like hard boiled egg and refried Beans, just a little like two little bites just to chew something. I was just burnt out on broth. the 1st week I only ate broth, Jello and popsicles and of course Water. it was hard. I'm glad to know that everyone else is having a hard time with the liquid diet. I'm glad I found this site I don't feel so alone anymore.

i'm just starting week 2 and am able to eat mashed potatoes and creamy soups-- i feel hungry most of the time and, when not working, eat like every hour. Sometimes i munch on popsicles, other times ice cubes, or i might have a cup of juice. I can only eat a little at a time, but with 30-40 min, i'm ready for more. I hope this is okay.

I hate to say it, but you guys don't know how good you've got it.

My doc had this: 15 days of preop Optifast and broth and sf jello; after surgery, 10 days of Clear Liquids only; three weeks of full liquids and then mushies. I followed it to the "T" because I know that I can't break these rules and be successful. Was I hungry? You bet I was. Cried sometimes and was feeling like I was starving.

I'm 4 1/2 months post-op now, have lost 67 lbs and am on my second fill.

It's depressing sometimes, but ask yourselves this: Did I go through all of this, the cost, the preop stuff, just to start cheating now? If you want to chew, eat a popcicle - sugarfree of course. If you're having headaches, then call your doctor for advice. It's vital that you follow his instructions. And by no means offer advice to others about cheating - the newer people need to know that just because you had an okay outcome so far, it doesn't mean that they will.

You guys can do this!

Best to all,

Barbara

I have lost 11 pounds total, and I am starting back at the gym next week....so I will need to keep my Protein intake up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
