Sliming

Recommended Posts

Peg, you know, I don't think I've slimed yet, but I've gotten stuck a few times, and it's all been on chicken, and once on brisket. I get that feeling that it's not going down and then my esophagus and throat are in a battle to see where it's gonna go. I have to stand over the sink and lean over and I keep swallowing out of natural reflex to try to make it go down and some mild saliva comes up till the piece finally goes down. I don't think I've experienced a true slime or PB yet. I'm afraid, because the stuck feeling is bad enough to me!

Sliming occurs usually when something is stuck in the opening between your band and the rest of your stomach, and for reasons I can't explain, you start to salivate excessively and it has no place to go but up and out. I have had sliming twice. Once I got a pill struck that I should have cut in half but didn't, and I slimed for a few minutes until the pill dissolved enough to go through. Also once I got some hamsteak stuck that I apparently didn't chew thoroughly. That took a couple hours to resolve. No nausea, but I knew stuff needed to come up, so I was in and out of the bathroom at work for about 2 hours. That and the nasty discomfort you feel in your chest from whatever is stuck.

If you are gagging and spitting up a little bit, I am not sure that is really sliming. The excess saliva is quite a lot. If you gag and clear your throat, you may just need to clear your throat.:)

What Patchelton said...your body produces the mucus to try and dislodge the stuck food and sometimes when you are really stuck the mucus backs up into your mouth=sliming

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
