I wanted it so bad...........

Recommended Posts

I am on day 12 of my preop diet.

I was by myself in the car yesterday and out of no where I wanted a big mac and fries. I was on a hunt for some gas went to 3 stations before I found gas. But anyway I came home after getting gas and drank a Protein Shake and pretended it was big mac and fry. Of course my imagination is not quite that good. Then I went to church last night, my husband was ordained as a minister. I am so proud of him. But of course they had food afterwards. These women in my church can really cook. But someone made some dip the rotel and hamburger and cheese dip I really, really {did I say really} wanted some. It was more like a finger foods type of things to eat man I really wanted it bad. But I drank me some Tomato Soup and drank Water. I feel so good that I was able to stay on track. My poor dh is having a hard time. He doesnt want to eat because I cant but I keep reminding him this is not forever. The girl who made the dip promised to make it again sometime when I can have a little. How many other preop dieters are having some victories of there own? sorry this is so long but felt good to get this out.

Good for you Renea!

It took some serious willpower to get past these hurdles. During this stage you get stronger with each victory!

During my pre-op diet I had two hurdles.

Our company has a montly lunch meeting which of course occurred during my diet. I sat and watched while everyone ate a catered lunch of salad, grilled chicken, rice, veggies, homeade rolls and biscuits, Cookies and brownies while I sipped on 1/2 cup of chicken broth.

The last part of my pre-op was during Memorial Day and that was a difficult day. I turned down invites to BBQ's and decided to skip the holiday and just stay home. Decided to work in the yard and the smells of all of the neighborhood BBQ's was actually painful! LOL.

Way to go, Ranea!!!!

I'm on pre-op too...10 day pre-op and I'm on day 8...being banded on Thursday.

Just to let you know we went out to dinner and a play on Saturday with 3 other couples....my favourite restaurant that has spectacular authentic Italian food, included quail and polenta with a wine reduction sauce...to die for...and some really, REALLY good wine. Well, I have to say it was a challenge...the owner of the restaurant was more than happy to oblige me with a grilled chicken breast over steamed spinach....and how well they presented it. Everyone was on my side and I felt good that I didn't do anything wrong. Well, almost. I just touched my tonge in my husbands wine glass just to catch a couple of taste buds...hehehe.

We're all here for ya!!!...Keep it up and good luck!

Ok...Canadian here...

I'm pretty much informed, but I'm a little lost when you say you can't find gas?

Please explain.

The hurricanes sometimes cause temporary gas shortages in the southern states due to closed refineries and/or panic buying.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
