You know you have good restriction when...

Recommended Posts

ALL kinds of food looks good, but you have to sit and decide if it's worth the work to eat it...especially when you'll end up eating so LITTLE of it. LOL

You know you have good restriction when... everyone stands back a respectful distance when they talk to you.

You know you have good restriction when... you start pricing spitoons on Ebay.

You know you have good restriction when... you start to wonder if hurling is an Olympic sport.

You know you have good restriction when... you think twice before opening your mouth at meetings after meals.

You know you have good restriction when... you daydream about starring in the next remake of The Exorcist.

This is a perfect thread for me today. I went out to lunch with my hubs, dad, and bro in law and all I could think of was "How in the world can they eat that much??" I then realized after eating my very small bowl of chicken and rice Soup that I was stuffed and they were stuffing their faces.

You know you have good restriction when ... you can't eat chips (food of the Gods!) because you know you're gonna get stuck. But it's aaaaallll good.

You know you have good restriction when... the only food you can eat looks like the food you've already pb'd.

You know you have good restriction when... you comfort yourself by knowing that if you're ever kidnapped, the FBI will find you by your spit trail.

You know you have good restriction when... you start chewing tobacco so that everyone will think they know why you've always got that big bulge in your cheek.

You know you have good restriction when... every well earned burp carries with it the tantalizing risk of social catastrophe.

You know you have good restriction when... you give up couting calories because, how are you ever going to know how much you've actually eaten?

Ughhh!! Got my first pill stuck today! Guess that means I've got good restriction, huh? Well, guess what guys. I just found out today that I have Lyme Disease! It's in the early stages so I should completely recover. The doc put me on Doxycycline and the pills are about the size of an aspirin. The problem is I'm supposed to take them, twice a day, on an empty stomach. That's when the band is the tightest. I took the first one today with a lot of Water and it still got stuck. What awful pain! Now I can barely get down a cup of coffee. I'm going to try breaking the pill into 4 pieces tonight. If I'm still having trouble getting it down, I'll have to get the med in liquid form tomorrow.

I got a weird rash on Sat. with a red blotch on my leg. I didn't know that I got bit from a tick but I got so many mosquito bites in RI, I probably didn't notice one more bite. I probably got bit there. It can take a week to 10 days for the rash to appear. I was also feeling really lousy as if I had the flu. A friend suggested it could be Lyme and I was like "no way"! Went to the doc Tues and got a blood test. I feel like I dodged a bullet. If I ignored the symptoms and just assumed I had a virus like I thought, it would have gotten a lot worse and maybe caused permanent damage. Moral of the story - Never play doctor. Always have a doctor diagnose what's wrong with you. Anyway, this has been good for my diet. An irritated band and some nausea is always good for a few pounds!

You ARE lucky! I worked with a woman who had untreated Lyme disease and she ended up with awful neurological problems. Be happy and thankful that your doc and friends were on top of it!! Speedy recovery! Also, you can buy a pill cutter at the pharmacy that works great, if you can't get liquid medication.

Thanks Foofy!! I got the meds in liquid although my doc thought it didn't come in liquid at first. I'm finally on meds tonight. Liquid doesn't taste too good but I'll deal with it. I feel pretty lousy. Sort of like having the flu. I'm so tired and I have 2 night classes and 3 days of interning till December. Such bad timing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
