Say hi to Joey Ramones' Girl!

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

So, I am here because I need the lap band. Wow! Funny, how I landed out here. Anyway, I'll be going to a seminar on Saturday, to see if I can get the lap band. My current weight is 230 lbs and I am 5 feel 1 inch tall! (Yeah, I know I'm short).

How I got to be this big is a huge tale (pun intended), but I'll shorten it and post it on "Why are YOU fat?" thread. Overweight my whole life, got worse when I was picked on severely in high school. I've been diginosed with severe depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). I just had a panic attack yesterday and I'm still recovering from it. *SIGH*

Most of my depression comes from the fact that I am fat. I hate it and want to change it so bad. I've been on countless diets like WW, South Beach, Atkins, Blood Type diet, so on and so forth. You name it, I've tried it. And (get this) I'm only 19 years old. I need this surgery because I can't control what I eat and I always feel hungry. I recently tried the Shangri La Diet, but I got sick because of the oil and sugar Water.

So, about me: I'm a college student who is pursuing philosophy and acting and I want to write about different acting styles and theaters. I love to write, act, draw, paint, play video games, sew and listen to punk music (Gabba Gabba Hey!).

Feel free to say hi, I don't bite. See ya soon!

Welcome JRG. I wanna be sedated!! There's a LOT of info scattered on here for a potential new bandster to look over, so pull up a chair and get busy reading!! It'll be nice to have a philosophy dudette on here, I Kant remember the last time that happened (see what I did there? Philosophy puns ROCK).

Seriously, there are pros and cons that need to be considered with the band. It's not a magic pill...it's a helpful tool. You'll probably understand mo betta after your seminar.

There's a metric ton of friendly regulars on here, lots of support, advice, etc. It's a wonderful site. Good luck on your journey, and keep us all posted on your progress!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
