Slow loser...NSV

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody! I'm checking in at 10 months post-band. I've lost 36 lbs. I just finished my first 5K and it did not kill me! Yeah. I feel so strong and have so much more energy. Tonight is my 5 year wedding anniversary and its the first time I've worn a dress since the wedding. I actually feel pretty. 40-80 more pounds to go and I feel successful and though it has been slow going. Slow losers take heart!

I'm right there with you! I'm just over 11 months out and have lost 65 lbs. It's less than some, but, I'm thrilled with the results (so far).

I had to get completely unfilled about a week ago (slight stretching of my pouch). They'll slowly fill me up again in about 3 weeks - till then I'm on my own. It's tough, but, not as bad as I thought.

I love my band and NEVER want to be without it :girl_hug:

Congrats to us slow losers - we'll get there eventually!!!! Keep up the great work!

hello - I'm a slow loser too. Although I don't feel like one - as far as I'm concerned a year ago I weighed a whole lot more so it's all good!!! Keep up the good work fellow bansters!!

A year out and I am also a slow loser. But...without the band I would be 46 lbs heavier. Congrats on your NSV and anniversary!! I know there are more NSVs to come!

Hi Everyone,

It has been 1 year ago today that I had my surgery!!!!!!!!!! I have lost a total of 43lbs. I am a slow looser but at least I am 43lbs lighter.

The time has gone by very quickly and sometimes I am hard on myself but I have to remember where I was before and where I am now. I still have about 75lbs to go. I will take it one day at a time and know that I will have good and bad days. Good Luck to Everyone!!!!! Take care and God Bless.:D

Hello everyone!!! My 1 year anniversary was on October 8. I have lost a total of 45lbs :)But I am not losing a fast as I want to be. I haven't had a fill for quite sometime now. But it is strange at times because depending on the day or even the time of day I am not able to eat because I feel full. does this happen to anyone else?

Hi everyone, Good for you...It takes time..we all didnt start at the same weight...or size..I was banded 10/07 and I finally went below the 200 mark....that was a big goal for me..I have lost about 85 pds..but I still need to lose about 55 more..so I need to get focused. Some days I can eat 3 times as much..other days its hard to get a shake down...my weakness is staying away from pudding and ice cream..mashed potatoes...if you all have any suggestions..I am ready to listen..thanks and good luck... :smile2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
