Alteration..... My surgery is also on Oct 1st I have to be there at 5:45 am and buy 8 am hopefully I will be banded.. I am so excited.. I wish you the best of luck.. I can't wait for this journey to begin.. I am with you on the liquid thing for awhile. I have been doing my pre op diet for about 5 or 6 days now which is all liquids except one very small meal for dinner which consist of zero carbs.. It has been a very big learning experience.. ... well I just wanted to say hi..

Leann I wanted to wish you luck as well. that is a lot of travel to do after surgery.. iS it cheaper in texas? or do you just know the doctor there??? I hope everything goes well for you two..

Hey Everyone! Brand new member here in Texas. Want to wish everyone that has or will have their surgery the best of luck. My band date is exactly 2 weeks away. Hope this is going to be a place of inspiration and support. Will be having my surgery at Baylor in Ft Worth.

Start the two week pre op diet tomorrow. Why does it seem easier to give up something on your own than when you are told you CAN"T have them? Crazy isn't it?

If any DFW posters are around would love to hear from you!

later

We should create a list of names (or aliases) with surgery dates so we can keep track and send out emails of encouragement just prior to surgery and can followup after. I would be happy to do this. I just need everyone to send me their info and I will compile the list. I will start with mine.

Ok, I'm going to do a shout out for the October bandsters in another thread. Let's tell a little summary of ourselves. You don't have to divulge too personal of info, just some interesting things about you. So that we can feel like we know eachother better.

We are going to have to lean on eachother soon, b/c no one else will get it like we GET it.

So Look for my thread about getting to know the smashing pumpkins!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
