went to the doctor for my stress test. had to find a place to eat for lunch so i took my mom to a chinese restruant and let her eat off the buffet while i ate my egg drop Soup, trying to get all the pieces of egg out of it. boy did i want some of her food.< /p>

Friend of my Mother, loaned me a couple books to read on the lap band. I finished reading "Fighting Weight" by Khaliliah Ali. Quick read.

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Fighting-Weight-Procedure-Eliminates-Hunger-Forever/dp/0061170968/ref=si3_rdr_bb_product]Amazon.com: Fighting Weight: How I Achieved Healthy Weight Loss with "Banding," a New Procedure That Eliminates Hunger--Forever: Khaliah Ali, George Fielding, Christine Ren, Lawrence Lindner: Books[/ame]

It was informative as well as entertaining. The textbook like book my Doctor gave me seemed terribly boring in comparison.

I learned a couple things. I enjoyed her back story and related to a lot of what she said. Her book dedication says it all.

“And to all children whose parents have opted out of too many photos with them.”

Made me cry because it is so true.

Bridgette - I just have plain old popsicle brand sugar-free popsicles in orange, grape & cherry. My daughter & I fight over who gets the orange & grape. Cherry is always last. I wish I could find some with better flavors, but no one around here carries them!

Had my check-up today. I am down 23 pounds! Yippee!

I'm off to update my ticker, and then have some yogurt. One week of full liquid (yogurt, oatmeal, Protein drinks) and then I'm on to more real food.

That's awesome!!! I have to update my ticker too.

I'll have to look for the fruity sf pops when I go to the store next time. :)

Well, I called the head nurse (who doesn approvals for the greater DC area- if anyone needs her number, I have her direct line) for the millionth time yesterday. I told her voice mail that I had done my part that they asked of me in a timely manner, now I deserve the same treatment. That was at 3pm yesterday, at 9am this morning, my surgeon's office called to tell me I had been approved. I think it didn't hurt that the insurance coordinator at the surgeon's office was staying after her, too. The squeeky wheel gets the grease and all.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
