Hi I was just banded on August 7th and MA BCBS couldn't have been faster and better. No questions they went by what my doctors wrote about me.

No problems at all. Where are you going for your band? I was done at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, which was great. They took care of everything. If you have any co-morbidites you will not have a problem if your BMI is under 40. And if you are over 100 lbs. with BMI of 40 or over, you shouldn't have any problems with them.

They are very good with follow ups also, they have a nurse call you once a month to go over what your doing at home. They are very nice.

So good luck.

I agrre-I had no problem with getting approval-there was some confusion between them and the Doc's office over who had which papers, but witihin a couple of weeks I had a YES! Best of luck to you.

Hi:

I had the Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA HMO Blue NEw England. It went through like a breeze. I used to be 324 pounds though so there was no issue about it being medically necessary.

Good luck.

Sue
