Surgery tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm due to go in for my surgery at 7am tomorrow. We have an hour and a halfs journey to get there so it will be an early start! I have been on my pre op diet.....shakes and fruit n veg for 7 days and have lost 10 pounds already.....I can't believe that, I've never lost that much in one go no matter which diet I have done. I think thats unnerved me more than ever because now I'm doing the "do I really need this band thing???" I know I do though because I will just put it back on if I don't. So that leaves me with 59 pounds to go which I hope my band will help me to lose.

I'm really up and down today, nervous but excited and kind of relieved that its actually happening.

Good luck to anyone else who is going in over the next few days. I'll post when I'm back out and have managed to get through the gas pains I'm expecting having read oh so many posts on it !!

xxx:lol:

 I'm sure you'll be fine Weighting game!! See if you can find some other flavours it really does help!!

I've been going on the preop about 8 days now! I'm doing ok and luckily i don't totally hate Optifast. I have tried their new strawberry shake which is nice and a change from the chocolate shake I've been mostly drinking! :) I'm pretty good with repetition though so I'll cope :mad2:

Hi,

I will also be having surgery tomorrow but I am scheduled for 10am. Starting to get really nervous. Last night should have been my last night to have dinner but for some reason I fell asleep early and missed dinner. Now today all I get is Clear liquids...

How I wish it was Tuesday already... then I would be heading home...

Trying to get my head round drinking these supposedly chocolate Protein shakes for another 3 weeks....You doing any pre-op yet?

Weight

Weightx, have you tried the Protein bullets? If you aren't a fan of the shakes this might be a better alternative for you. I like the New whey bullets in fruit punch flavor. Some people can drink them straight, but I have to mix it into my Crystal Light.

Bon Voyage to BandLand!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
