Anyone have more menopause symptoms after weight loss??

I have seen posts where some have hormone fluctuations when they started losing weight and it caused some monthly issues,, so I was wondering if anyone who is post menopausal had more symptoms after or while losing weight? Estrogen is stored in fat so I figured I have been living off of that and that is why I haven't had any hot flashes and such since my hysterectomy.. The HRT brought them on, so I stopped taking it after 6 months.. not too mention the 47 lb weight gain during the 3rd and 6th month.

Hi, I have lost 32 pounds so far and until I started losing weight

I had hardly any menopause symptoms any more. Now I get hot flashes frequently and have some trouble sleeping through the night again. Oh well

it is still well worth it to lose weight.:)

A very interesting topic! I turned 54 3 weeks ago, and also had lap band surgery just 2 weeks ago. I have definitely been through menopause, but except for no longer having periods, I have had no symptoms whatsoever or menopause. I have no idea what a hot flash feels like.

I hope as I lose weight (have lost 32 pounds so far) I don't start, but if I do, I do.

Yup. I complained a couple months ago that I was going through menopause all over again. My hot flashes had pretty much given up before my surgery, but now they are back with a vengeance.

I was told that estrogen is stored in your fat, so when you alter the amount of the fat in your body it sends your hormonal levels crazy again. A younger woman complained a couple of months ago on here that she felt like she was going through puberty all over again. I don't know which would be worse!

Not very comforting ladies lol

It was one of the first things I thought about after deciding what I was going to do,, I would still take a hot flash and night sweats over 2 + wks of aunt flo any day... And.. I would rather be thin w/ hot flashes then squishy as my 3 yr old nephew called me this week... It was cute and kind lol

For some reason I am cold all the time, before surgery I was always hot and sweaty. Anyone else have this going on?
