Tomorrow is the big day!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

Well tomorrow is the big day. I'm scheduled to be at the hospital at 9:30a and my surgery will start at 11:30a. I'm actually not as nervous as I was before; I’m just anxious and excited to get the procedure done. I went to my pre-op appointment Friday and there are six other people that are having surgery the same day with Dr. Benavides, I guess we are all back to back from each other. Well wish me luck and thanks for the support ya'll have gave me so far, I'll follow up with you guys afterward.

Hey!

I hope you're doing fine. I had mines done last Monday 8/4/08. I know the first couple of days can be pretty rough so take it very easy. I just returned back to work today. Relax and unwind. All yeah by the way I found out by laying on your side with a soft pillow in front of your tummy helped me a great deal when sleeping. GOD Bless!:)

Hi All!!

The Surgery went fine yesterday. First of all they had us go to the boonies to have the surgery; it was about an hour away from Dallas. This was the only hospital that Dr. Benavides could bring his own staff around the Dallas area.

I went into prep around 11:45a, and some on the last things I remember was the anesthesiologist putting the feel good meds in my IV and them telling me to move other to the operating table. The next thing I know I was in recovery.

Right now I’m dealing with bad gas pains, but I know it will pass. Really the only discomfort I feel from the surgery is where the port is.

Again..thank you for the prayers and support!! I appreciate it all.

Hey!

I went in for my one week after surgery visit. I've lost 12lbs since last Monday 8/4/08 (surgery day) Yeah! The nurse put me on a puree diet. You know it's a new experience to put every thing in a blender and it comes out looking like something totally different. I never thought I would be eating food that looked and smell like baby food.

I'm schedule for my first fill 9/12/08. I can't wait. Oh yeah by the way he took the rest of my badages off. Which made the itching worst. He prescribed some Benadryl and Hydrocortisone Cream for my wounds. Oooh Baby! Relief! Thank You Jesus! Hang on in there ladies it can only get better:rolleyes2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
