Which foods can you not eat?

I have a tentative surgical date of September 29th. Endoscopy scheduled for August 26 and final insurance approval is my last step. I'm excited and confident. I was reviewing my info pack from my doctor and the lists of foods I will eat, should eat and foods I should avoid. It's confusing because on one page they recommend a food like rice or shrimp and on the next page those foods are listed as common problem foods after lap band surgery.

What foods have you totally removed from your diet?

I like the idea of chewing it up for the taste and then spitting it out. I may try that! If it was just a matter of eating healthy and exercising, I wouldn't need the band. The band controls portions-yes. But unfortunately, the bad foods go down just fine. I can't eat dense meats no matter how much I chew. Rice is a problem. Pasta and bread are not yet. Everyone's different. It only takes a couple of tries and you will no what to avoid.

Taking bites of food, chewing and then spitting out is not good and you will still be getting some of the calories.

It is a first sign of an eating disorder.

I have 4.6 ccs in a 10 cc band and can not have:

1) Bread, biscuts, bagels, muffins etc.

2) Rice

3) soft Tortillas

4) pizza

5) hotdogs, kilbasa, or anything with skin

Can have:

1) Popcorn almost unlimited, a bit of chips, some crunchy crackers, vegetables like carrots, cukes, cherry tomatoes (dip helps a lot)

2) Baked potatoes, chilli and pretty much any type of Pasta.

3) sea food

4) any type of Soup

5) Cereal w/ milk

and more... but that should give you a picture of the can't for me. Most of my "can't" food is not good for me anyway.:)

I have only had one fill so I am at 1cc in my 10cc band. So far I can eat whatever I want which is a little disappointing. Nothing gets stuck.

No breakfast. And no pasta. Pasta even got stuck in my band when it was completly unfilled, so I haven't even TRIED it now that my band is filled.

Bread, tortillas, cakes, and stuff like that gives me trouble as well.
