So i have been doing pretty well with weight loss so far. I stay on track for the most part and im happy. But now... i have gained back about 2lbs in 2 days? How?? Im working out more then ever this week... Im still watching what i eat also. Could this be due from an on coming " once a month friend" ? Im about to freak out. This is the only reason i can think this is happening to me. I hope someone out there knows some helpful info on this so i can go to my doc if i need to.

It could be "that time of the month" since that would cause some Fluid retention. I bounce up when I am constipated (I am 63 so the monthly friend is a thing of the past). I feel bloated too. I take a senna laxative (Senokote or a generic version) and that usually does the trick for me.

My guess is yes it is your period. Usually a week before I stop losing anything and usually a day or two before, I gain a little. Then a day or two after I start my period, the pounds I gained drop off, and the weight loss starts up again. I have been this way in all my 30 years of dieting. Stay positive! You are doing amazing things for yourself!

Same thing just happened to me 3 days ago....the scale showed a gain of 3 pounds and I haven't been eating any more that usual AND I started exercising. I know it must be the Water weight from my monthly cycle. I know it's disappointing to see the numbers on the scale go up but it's temporary.

There is another possibility. If you are working out harder than ever, your muscles may be retaining a bit of Fluid. I have noticed that when I stretch myself to a new level of working out, I always have a few days of not showing a loss, or gaining. It's just your body taking care of it's self. It doesn't have anything to do with fat....you are still losing fat. Don't worry. If you are eating low calorie, and exercising, you will lose.

Every now and then, when I have been dropping pounds very quickly, my body will take a break from losing, even though I am eating the same as I was for the past month. I just came off from a 7 day standstill. I know how frustrating it is, and you just want to say "screw it...I might as well eat a cake!" But just rest assured that if you stick to your guns, you will resume losing soon!

Good job on the working out, btw! Proud of you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
