Hormones and tightness?

Recommended Posts

Hi --

I've noticed over the last 2 months that I become extremely tight for about a week after my period ... has anyone else experienced? I went off the pill about 6 months ago and am considering going back on ... any advice? It is driving me nuts that one day I can eat something and the next day Water can be painful.

Thanks.

Cynthia

I too have hormonal tightness. :smile2: Mine usually happens PRIOR to my period. I also have found stress makes life tighter. Even when I am on a plane or a high pressure weather system comes through can bother me in a minor way. I would just roll with it. It's something that happens only once in a while, and I just try to plan for it. Flexibility in how you handle the "tool" is key in all of this. I just try to roll with things as best as I can. I love my band...both on the good days and the bad. Good luck.

Well, don't get too discouraged. I can totally relate with being tight during cycle time. I experience that all the time along with the raging hormones that equal :smile2:. So, needless to say my doctor told me that the tightness is normal and nothing that I should be worried about. So,hopefully you will be able to continue deal with it. My husband always ask me do you like the new you or would you rather go back to the old you with all the health problems, in my case the new me is a lot better. Even though this roller coaster ride has been a wild one. I feel that it only can get better though as I continue to see my body change.

Thanks, everyone. Please do not get me wrong, I do love the band, and am happy to put up with some tightness. I was just surprised by difference from week to week.

I have the same problem - I get really loose just before my period, then once my period hits I get really tight, so it kind of makes up for it! There are certain times of day and certain times of the month that our tightness varies, this is a normal part of being banded. It is kind of frustrating, because it makes it hard to know what to eat! But it is totally normal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
