Severe pain 4 months post op

Recommended Posts

I got a fill on the 17th of July and on the 20th I went to a BBQ, I am not sure if I at too much, cause I cant eat a lot right now anyway, and i also had some alcohol. I woke up at 2 am with severe pain in the back and in the front like someone was kicking me constantly, it was very bad cramping, like I had to use the bathroom, but I didn't, I went to the Er and while I was there I swear I felt my stomach turn and the pain stopped and completely went away. I don't know what is going on. They gave me a shot for muscle contractions in my stomach and prescribed me muscle relaxer pills to take when needed. I am sitting here right now and my back is beginning to feel sore again so I think I will take one of those pills! I have contacted my surgeon and if I cant see him today I will see him tomorrow. I hope to GOD everything is alright and that I didn't mess anything up. Time to stick to just liquid for a few days for fear of eating anything solid! Has anyone had this happen before or heard of it?

I had an episode somewhat like it. We grilled out at home about a week ago. We had chicken and kofte (smilar to hamburger or meatballs but more finely chopped with a smoother texture), salad and corn on the cob. I ate a little too much and wasn't feeling comfortable, but not terrible either. I went to bed and work up in the middle of the night in some pain with the worst heartburn of my life. My stomach also hurt with a little cramping. I had part of a glass of milk and an antacid and pretty much could not sleep laying down the rest of the night because I was too uncomfortable (stayed in the recliner and dozed occasionally). I was not worried enough to go to the ER but thought I would in the morning if it got any worse.

It got marginally better and I went on liquids for the whole weekend. I worked my way very slowly to solid foods again because I was nervous. I am fine now and everything seems normal. I have not had picnic food since and I don't desire it either. I did not realize that having a bad experience can really give you an aversion to eating certain things.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
