Hi guys, my name is Penny. My DH is a Navy Seabee (note the avitar!). He's been in 12 years and we've been married for 7. We have two little precious babes 2 1/2 and 7 mths. My tricare process has been pretty easy and I have surgery scheduled for August 20th. I'm on the 5th day of my preop diet. My DH is doing it with me (now, thats support!) - he's lost 12 lbs and I only lost 3~ :) Guess this is why I need a lap band. Get it, Ineedalapband. Ok, well, only i think Im funny. Anywhoo. We've been overseas the last 6 years (Sicily, Spain) and are currently in Gulfport, MS where we've been for about a year. We LOVED living overseas and hope to get to go back.

Oh, and I'm hungry.

We lived in Hattiesburg for a while - husband was there 5 years, and me 2 - at Camp Shelby. We loved it there - but anything is better than Fort Hood *lol*.

Cool, I'm USM Alumni! Go Eagles! I lived in Hattiesburg while I was in College and then lived/worked there for 5 1/2 years until I met my husband. My husband just came back from some training at Camp Shelby. Small world.

We didn't realize how much we really enjoyed living in Hattiesburg until we left - now that we're about to get out of the Army, I've actually looked at houses there. :biggrin2:

Hi all,

My name is Vera and I am a 24 year Navy Wife. DH retired in 1994. We really miss the active duty life even now! We are now living in a small town in NC near Myrtle Beach, SC.

The biggest thing that I miss is the close support of the military spouses. We always stuck together!

I got banded on Aug 12, so I am still on liquids.:smile2:

Gotta run get ready for work!

Vera

Hello, all,

My name is Kitty, and have been married to my soldier for 13 years. He has been AD for 16 years, with about a year and a half NG duty while in high school. We are currently stationed at Fort Hood, soon to try to get away from here, my husband isn't fond of the Cavalry way of life. We have been to Fort Campbell (where we met), Hohenfels, Germany, Fort Benning, Georgia, and Babenhausen, Germany. We were supposed to go back to Germany a couple of years ago, but were redirected to Fort Hood, while I like it here (love the weather), my husband does not.

We have one daughter, who just turned 12, and two dogs.

I was banded July 8th and will not get my first fill until the 21st of August. I have been ready for my fill for a while, but my doctor is somewhat conservative in that aspect. He needs to do something though, because I feel as though I can eat this house some times.

Hi Everybody, I'm Taylor. I've been married to my DH for a year now. So this military stuff is brand new to me. We are stationed at Fort Hood and this is MY first place to be stationed. But he's been all over. I'm happy to be here! Glad to have found a site like this too. I look forward to being banded as well...I'm still in the pre op testing stage. I wish the best for all of you!!

Hey Into...what doc did you use, was it someone in Austin?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
